Wonderful experience. Highly recommend. Carolyn especially made it such a smooth, relaxing time by being such a welcoming and informative host. Recommended staying a week longer than however much you plan. The area is just so delightful and very walkable.

We spent our first vacation as a family at Carolyn's and Marc's appartement. Their house has an incredible view on the bay of Porto da Cruz, we enjoyed the scenery everyday at breakfast and lunch. Since our activities were quite limited due to our baby, we were looking for a nice, modern and comfortable flat with an outside area that lets you enjoy the beautiful island anyway. And thats exactly what we found. You can get anything you need within 15 minutes on foot: groceries, restaurants, bus stop and a nice sea water pool at the rocky beach. Carolyn and Marc are very friendly and caring hosts, they were very helpful and understanding. We had some nice talks, but they will also completely respect your privacy. Thank you, we want to come again!

Carolyn and Mark were outstanding hosts in every regard! They always went the extra mile—hospitality, recommendations, and attending to our needs. The 1-bedroom apartment was perfect for our 8-week stay—comfortable bed, tv, washer, utensils, pots & pans, fridge & freezer, stove, bedding, linens, towels, and a nice desk. The place is about a 5-minute walk from the bus stop—which connects easily to Funchal, Machico, and Faial. Only a 10-minute walk from Teresina’s bakery and coffee shop—our favorite. ‘About the same amount of time to the surf beach and fantastic municipal pool. The small local grocery store has just about everything you’ll need. We would not hesitate to return to this perfect apartment and location! Thanks for a great stay!

Carolyn and Mark are genuinely great, warm-hearted people who take excellent care of people they host. For that reason we felt right at home from the first moment at their apartment and around them and received a warm welcome. :) The apartment is well-equipped, clean and spacious and is close to the center. Every detail is perfect, not to mention the stunning view from the terrace. Both Carolyn and Mark are very responsive, and took care of us all the time not only regarding our stay, but helped us out a lot in even other questions that we had. They mean more than just superhosts to us now! :)

We had an absolutely fantastic time at Carolyn and Mark's charming Airbnb on stunning Madeira Island! Their warm welcome made us feel like visiting dear friends. The cozy apartment had convenient car parking, making exploring the island a breeze. Carolyn and Mark were wonderful hosts, sharing insider tips and ensuring an extra special stay.
