We had a great experience in Marcela’s house. It is very large and our family of 6 fit very comfortably. I especially loved the master bed and bath! Lots of places to sit and eat in the living area. We enjoyed the bikes and the toys and the neighbors are very nice and welcoming. The neighborhood is very pretty and quiet and a good 10 minute drive from town so Taxis are required. Marcela was helpful in giving several taxi drivers’ names but often they weren’t available to come out to the house to pick us up, so that was difficult. I appreciated how much drinking water she provided. The house is surrounded by beautiful trees which is probably why there are so many bugs in the house. We needed to frequently sweep up centipedes, large spiders, and tiny ants. We came to Galapagos to see animals, so we made it fun. Marcela’s home feels like a home rather than a hotel: she has personal belongings and food around, which adds authenticity for us-we liked it, but not everyone does. Fun stay!

Nosotros hemos disfrutado muchísimo la casa de Marcela. Es una casa amplia, llena de detalles, acabados modernos y prácticos, con un interior cálido y acogedor. Viajamos con 2 niños y para ellos fue un paraiso disfrutar de las hamacas, bicicletas y jardín. Además, fue una gran sorpresa para mi hijo encontrar muchos juguetes con los que se divirtió. Los dormitorios son lindos y la suite es muy amplia y moderna. Pudimos cocinar algunas veces, tiene una cocina completa. La casa tiene aire acondicionado en las diferentes áreas y dormitorios, algo indispensable en marzo que el calor está en su punto más alto. También tiene lavadora de ropas :). Marcela es una excelente anfitriona, estuvo pendiente de nosotros en todo momento. Nos ayudo con unos taxis de confianza (4 dólares) que eran los que nos recogían cuando era necesario. Nos encantó la tranquilidad de la zona, no hay casi turistas, es una zona residencial y muy segura. Es 100% recomendable! Gracias Marcela!

La casa está ubicada en un barrio selvático alejado del centro a 4km. Es genial inmerso en la naturaleza. La casa muy bien equipada. Muy luminosa y bien construida. Súper cómoda. Lo único negativo es que no hay buena señal de internet en ningún lugar de la casa. A pesar de tener dos wifi no hay señal. Todo lo demás impecable.

Marcela's place is a hidden gem! It's located outside the downtown area, but was never difficult to get a taxi to. It was quiet, peaceful and secluded, and was the perfect retreat for our family. There's a little tienda store right outside that we were able to get eggs, bread, bananas, and drinks. It's a quiet gated community that all the taxi drivers knew how to get to, and we felt extremely safe. We always left the doors unlocked and never once questioned our safety. Our kids (6, 3 and 8 months) had a wonderful time playing freely in nature outside on the back porch and the playset, and enjoyed the bikes Marcela had there. The showers and bathrooms were clean, well maintained, and the water pressure was great. Marcela had lots of clean drinking water jugs for us, clean towels, beach towels, and everything we could have possibly needed. She arranged the transport to pick us up at the canal the first day, which took that extra layer of stress off my plate, and sent me contacts for taxis and also for a local pediatrician when my baby was sick. Not only did she sent me the contact information, but she went above and beyond to come with us to the hospital and pharmacy 3 different times when we needed help translating. Marcela truly was exceptional and I wish every Airbnb host was as kind, as welcoming, and as helpful as her!! Look no further if you need a place in Puerto Ayora!!
