This was my first Airbnb experience and I was unhappy with the outcome. When I first saw the house - i went through the pictures and at the time I did not notice that there was not a living room/space included with the rental. To be honest when renting a home you would assume that there is a living room or space of some sort. I had communicated to the host that this was a military family coming in with 3 small children (5, 3 and 1). That since it was the holiday we would be setting up a Christmas tree...... the host never communicated with me that the only space we would be able to was the kitchen (I feel like he knew that was where we would have to set it up). Also, my other niece wanted to stay with her sister at the Airbnb but when she realized she refused - but I had already paid the extra $105 for her. Overall, I believe that no living room/space should be listed in the description of the rental - had that been the case I would have passed. Disappointed in this experience.

The house was a nice beach-style house with 2 bedrooms and a very workable kitchen. There were sufficient dishes and utensils for us along with a microwave and coffee maker. The house was clean and the beds were comfortable. Entering into the house was easy by a code given to us by Matt. One problem was the narrow driveway which made getting in and out of the yard tricky but doable. The price was reasonable for a 2-bedroom house. My major complaint was that, for some reason, the dishwasher did not work. There appeared to be no power to the dishwasher although everything else worked perfectly. We messaged Matt about this problem; his initial response was that we should be able to work the dishwasher. We messaged him several times, explaining that there was no power to the dishwasher. There was no response from Matt for the rest of our 10-day stay. This was very disappointing because a host should arrange for problems to be fixed when they occur. ,

The price was good. But the driveway was difficult to pull i to because of parked cars, fence, and steep drive way (scrapped bumper). Beds had dirt in them. We had to wash all the linens sand the floors were dirty. The dishwasher didn’t work. He told me to try the breaker and then to hold the button on the dishwasher. Neither worked. There was my wife, myself, 12yo son and our 5 month old son. The bathtub had a bad resurface and paint that started peeling up. Tries to blame us claiming we poured chemicals in his bathtub….. we have a baby that we would shower there???!!! There was 2 rolls of toilet paper. We had to go buy that. (He ordered new and it arrived 3 days later from Amazon) Only tv was in the bedroom. We didn’t realize how small it was. But then again it is Keansburg and it is under $100 per night. Would not use again because of being accused of dumping chemicals in the tub.

The home met all of our needs. Well stocked with cooking supplies as well as sheets and towels.
