Come and enjoy all Devon and Dartmoor has to offer! From the front door, it is a short walk straight onto Dartmoor itself, past the newly opened Dartmoor train line. Amazing beaches on both the north and south Devon coast are just a short drive away. Number 17 is also just 2 minutes walk from the beautiful Simmonds Park and all the town's amenities. The property is modern, open & light with a lovely secluded back garden, perfect for relaxing after a day spent on the moor or at the beach. Number 17 offers a range of features which cater for both children and adults alike including table tennis, large trampoline and board games for the former. And then for the latter, an open-plan kitchen/conservatory socialising area, a quiet and a secluded garden backing onto the local park, with fire pit and barbecue. It also boasts a comfortable sitting room complete with woodburner for cosy nights in.
Lovely house, cosy and warm with an open fire. Great space for the 6 of us and dog. Recommended!
We had a fabulous time. The house had everything you could want for your stay . The 4 grandchildren loved the trampoline and table tennis . The location was very central to lots of attractions too. We would definitely recommend Joanna and her holiday let as very good value for money
We really enjoyed our stay on Station Road. The house is in good condition and is very comfortable and spacious. The kitchen is well stocked and a really sociable space. There are a few extra touches which were particularly great for our children - the large trampoline in the garden, a big keyboard inside and a good selection of board games! And of course the very close proximity to Simmons Park and swimming pool. We would highly recommend!
Simmonds Park in Okehampton is a well-maintained, beautiful park located just around the corner with open grassland, riverside walks and a well-equipped children's play area (the property backs onto this park). The stunning, family-friendly cycle route The Granite Way is at the top of the hill next to the train station which could take you into Exeter city for a day's shopping.
Number 17 is also within a short drive of several National Trust locations including Castle Drogo, Lydford Gorge and Finch Foundry. The English Heritage castles of Okehampton and Lydford are also there to be explored.
It is then between 45 minutes and 1 hour drive to either the North Devon or South Devon coast, with the family-friendly beach at Bude boasting great surfing opportunities, a sea-pool, rock-pooling and brilliant fish and chips to enjoy on the beach. We promise you won't be bored!
Okehampton has a number of pubs, cafe's & restaurants which are all within a flat, 5-minute walk from Number 17. As are the impressive range of independent shops, many of which are located within the lovely Victoria covered arcade which to walk down is like stepping back in time! So all within walking distance - as is Dartmoor itself and the stunning Granite Way cycle route at the top of Station Road.
Both restricted and unrestricted on-street parking is available directly adajcent to Number 17. To reach the coast (either North or South), it would be a short drive between 45 minutes and 1 hour.
