The good: The place is walking distance to the Legacy sites, and also to the points of interest downtown like the ball park, river, and lively restaurants on Commerce Street. Good AC Clean The less good: Neighborhood is kind of odd, adjacent to (a pretty empty downtown) and boarded up industrial buildings. Other homes on the street are unoccupied or used by non-profits. We never saw any other cars or people on the street. The host didn't give us entry instructions until 10 minutes before we arrived, and was generally slow to respond. There were literally no amenities in the house, not even coffee, until the host brought some by, not even salt and pepper. The worst was the odor in the house, which I thought was cleaning product, but turned out to be those plug-in air scents. The smell was so overwhelming and noxious that I couldn't sleep. Eventually we found them and were able to air the place out. Obvioulsy not an issue if you love those things or aren't sensitive to smells.

Excellent opportunity to experience the history of old Alabama. You are surrounded by early 1800’s homes and can still walk to the downtown entertainment and waterfront area.

Pros: Stayed 2 nights. Walkable, safe area. Had Roku TV & plenty of space for us. In the heart of downtown, Old Town Alabama. The temp was great in the house. We used the king bedroom & the bed was comfortable. Lots of storage in whole house if needed. Only tv is in living room. Cons: Host never responded during 2 night stay, in checkin/out, couldn’t reach her. Dirty bathroom w/hair on toilet, shampoo/soap mess in shower. Broken, dusty metal blinds in bathroom & curtain covered in dust as well as all the woodwork. Coffee pod left in pot, brown liquid in base of coffee pot. No water/coffee/snacks as stated. Dirty dustpan/broom left in kitchen at microwave. Clean dishes left out all over counter. For the cleaning fee, not sure what it paid for, be wary of that when booking. Maybe someone forgot to clean the house before our arrival?

Amazing location! Montgomery is leading the south in racial justice awareness via art and culture based installations! Wonderful reprieve and hope here. Definitely recommend and look forward to coming back. The cottage was perfect.

Tara was immediately responsive to a few questions we had at the last moment. Loved the historic neighborhood. Home was beautiful with high ceilings, good climate control, and wonderful front porch. Would definitely stay again.
