Well worth the money. Check in was easy and the house was as advertised. Lovely stay and will definitely be coming back.

Lovely house, great location and perfect for groups of friends and families. The kitchen dining space with conservatory provides a great social space and then the livingroom was cosy for the evenings. Loads of space upstairs and comfy bedrooms. The host Tracey was fabulous and was on hand whenever we needed. Great cafes on your doorstep like the Cornish cafe and just a short walk into West bay. Would highly recommend

Lovely cottage with a great layout and just steps from the beach (we were shocked to discover just how close we were)! We loved the flow of the main level, with easy eye-sight to the patio area where we could let our young kids get some fresh air while we prepared a meal - the doors between spaces also let us ‚contain‘ our 13 month old, when needed. The playground basically across the street was a bonus. We could easily be ‚self-contained‘ given Covid times, with a cosy fireplace feature that we were happy to enjoy on cool late-June evenings. The quaint detail and raw wood in the cottage was appreciated yet we also enjoyed some of the more modern updates and clever adaptations. A large ‚garage-like’ area proved to be a useful ‚transition’ space as we came inside from various adventures - the laundry right there plus a utility sink were hugely helpful both in from the beach and after a damp hike. Even in Covid times, we were able to also explore a bit, enjoy a meal (or coffee/snack break out) as well as venture easily to a few surrounding areas (Weymouth, Abottsbury, etc). The hiking in the area is tremendous - lots of opportunities for cool beach walks, esp if the weather isn‘t ‚ideal‘ for beach lounging. And we enjoyed our meals (and ice cream breaks) out too - the town center is steps from the house, though the only real noise we experienced was from the local seagulls :) A few specific notes on what to expect since we hadn‘t caught these in any reviews: beds were only OK for us due to hard mattresses - kids will be perfectly delighted but adults may be disappointed; cookware is basic; the owners don‘t offer any insider tips for where to eat, explore, etc., and being appliance savvy is to your advantage as there weren‘t any manuals when we visited (and it turned out to not be 100% straightforward). Bottom line: We would book again if back in West Bay!
