This is our second time at Search-Me-Heart. It's perfect for us as we love the location - we can easily access all our favourite spots in Portland - Frenchman's Cove, Blue Lagoon, Port Antonio. Great value for money and great communication from the hosts. Thanks so much for having us again!!

This 4 bedroom villa is situated off the road in a very pleasant, well kept premises. The four bedrooms are built around a common area which consist of a sitting and dining area. Each room has a bathroom, and is independent of each other, allowing for complete privacy. There is adequate Wi-Fi and the location is close to attractions such as the Blue Lagoon, (although closed at present due to extensive road improvements ), beaches such as Frenchman’s Cove and Winnifred Beach, and the famous Boston Jerk center. Port Antonio is approximately a 10-minutes drive. This is a lively community which I think this would be ideal for a family reunion group. I was there with four members of my family and we were very comfortable. One of the owners, O’Neil, was always available if we needed anything, but never intrusive.

Grace place was a true delight. We felt super welcome. The place is beautiful, super comfortable and cool. Drapers welcomed us with open arms, and we enjoy blending in with the locals, enjoying the amazing beaches , the blue lagoon, the amazing real Jamaican food (best jerk with rice and peas I've tried at Pauleens just crossing the road) and enjoying the music and vibes of the bars in the town. 10/10 recommended, has been 100% a highlight of our visit in Jamaica. :)

The communication was very easy, the host was responsive and helped us whenever we needed something. The place was nice, we liked the outdoor kitchen. Thank you for the stay!

My pros and cons from my experience July 30, 2022 are below PROS: 1. 4 minutes from Frenchmans Cove 2. Beautiful green areas and lots of trees 3. Perfect if you want a quiet getaway without tv or ac 4. Rooms and linen appeared clean (except for observations in the kitchen stated under cons) 5. Hot water on property was great and the pressure of the water was very heavy so shampooing my hair after the beach was quick and easy. CONS: 1. Host made no contact after reservation was made. I sent a message stating that I was looking forward to being on property. That still has not been acknowledged. There was also no communication to discuss check in time, process, etc. 2. The road from Port Antonio to the property is under construction which results in a 10 minute commute taking over 25 minutes and some front-end damage being done to your car. The road is either extremely dusty or very muddy (if it rains) as it is filled with large potholes. This makes commute to and from the property frustrating and your car will be a mess. 3. The kitchen is outdoors in an area that appeared to be a carport/garage before. This is not normal and a bit of an inconvenience based on the location of the rooms, especially if it is raining, or at nights as you access by going into the front yard and across the lawn. 4. The toaster oven and coffee maker were in unsanitary conditions. Both were rusted and the toaster oven doesn't appear to have been cleaned in a long time as there was accumulated bread crumbs all over the bottom, and rust all around both the inside and outside. We took items to prepare meals but decided against it after seeing the kitchen. 5. There was a bag of sugarcane in the freezer that seemed to have been left by a previous guest, or the owner. I do not want to see that when I check in. 6. The sink had debris in the drain strainer... not sanitary for me. Likewise the sponge, dishwahing liquid and washcloth were used. Refill and change out for new guests. 7. There was a quarter roll of tissue left in each bathroom. First concern is that the tissue was clearly leftover from a previous booking, and second am I to call and ask for extra tissue? That is a basic requirement for guests. 8. There was an indication on the site that parking is on property. The parking was outside the property beside the wall and not visible from any of the rooms so the vehicle was not in a secure location within the walls of the property. 9. The bed is very basic and uncomfortable. You can feel the slats of board on the base of the bed through the thin sponge-like mattress. 10. Washrags were not provided, only small and large towels. 11. There was no mesh on the windows, so although it was extremely hot, we were forced to keep the windows closed at night to keep out mosquitos and bugs. 12. Room was a little musty upon arrival as it was not prepared for us. The windows were not opened to allow air to circulate and refresh the room. 13. Bodywash was was left in the open area without any message stating that was done. We stumbled upon it and saw a full bottle and a bottle that was almost finished. This again is not acceptable as we cannot understand why a bottle used by someone else would be shared with us.
