Hope to Return! What I loved? -CHARMING cottage overlooking marina, clean and tidy -Picturesque neighborhood -River views -Very friendly, proactive, and helpful staff!! -Community walking path & so many community amenities! -Friendly neighbors -Close to Starved Rock -A+ Guest recommendations for food & attractions What could go better? -bed was squeaky, unsupportive, & headboard wasn’t quite stable. Slept on couch. Please replace! -listing rules didn’t quite match the rules under “Directions” noted after booking, which didn’t quite match rules on the Guest website, which further didn’t match the 45 rule, 3 page document I signed when entering the neighborhood. While the rules weren’t unreasonable & I’m happy to follow them, there were so many and they were inconsistent, which was stressful. Host & community mangers: please clean this up so your guests can have a relaxing vacation, still respect property and community, but not have to check and recheck multiple rulebooks.

Harbor Inn is a great little vacation community! The location was ideal for visiting Starved Rock and kayaking in the Illinois River. Ottawa is a cute little town. Can't recommend Iniga's Pizzaria enough. The only issue we had with the house was the mattress. It was very soft. In fact, the left side had no support in the middle at all. One of us had to sleep on the couch. Harbor Inn was very responsive to our complaint and said they would share it with the homeowner. We liked the house a lot but could not stay there again unless the mattress was replaced.

A perfect place to stay!

We stayed at Heritage Harbor in a 1 bedroom, 1 bath cottage during the last week of September, 2021. It was exactly as advertised and very clean. The accommodations were perfect for our needs- especially having a full kitchen + washer and dryer which seemed like they were brand new. Parking is conveniently located right in front of the cottage which made our arrival and departure very easy. The view of the marina was lovely and the balcony with a roof gave us perfect shade for dining and working. The walking path around the marina is really nice. The marina staff are all very welcoming, knowledgeable and resourceful. We hardly left the resort, which is exactly as we planned. The ability to rent watercraft from the marina is fantastic! This place is going to grow into quite the well known attraction!
