My daughter and I had a quick business trip in San Francisco and stayed overnight at the Marina Oasis Motel. The minute you drive in, you are literally in a garden oasis. You feel your stress disparate from your body. The property is well maintained and everything is done with comfort and quality in mind. We had an amazing stay!!! There are wonderful restaurants and markets in the neighborhood. We will definitely come back again for a longer stay!
Cute spot with parking included. You definitely don’t want to stay here in warm weather as there is no Air Conditioning. Very small room. Good for 2, not more. It’s extremely vintage. Felt like a piece of grandmother’s home. The location is great. Close to the marina, Palace of the Fine Arts, Chestnut street with lots of eateries and bars. It’s a 2 star. I didn’t know that. I could’ve gotten the nice modern 4 star hotel for the same price minus the parking.

Built by the son of a California Gold Rush miner, the historic Marina Motel was built to celebrate the opening of the Golden Gate Bridge in the late 1930's and is still run by the same family. Ideally situated between Fisherman's Wharf and the Golden Gate Bridge in the popular Marina District, the Marina Motel offers a one-of-a-kind, old world experience. The first impression one has upon stepping into the motel's cobblestone courtyard is "Wow! This is like a little oasis back here with birds chirping, flowers EVERYWHERE, cute little garages and rooms decorated to feel like home. I feel like I'm in Europe." Walk around the corner to the numerous outdoor cafes, restaurants and boutiques on Chestnut and Union Street, take a walk on the beach to the Golden Gate Bridge or rent a bike and ride across it while taking the ferry back, ride a cable car at Fisherman's Wharf or visit the de Young Museum or California Academy of Science in Golden Gate Park. The best of San Francisco is within easy reach.
