Alan was an outstandingly helpful, considerate, proactive host, always willing to go an extra mile, from brainstorming and recommending activities to helping with firewood to everything else (we were a group with ages spanning from 9 months to 85 - our questions had a range as well). The place itself is as described. Beautiful, secluded with gorgeous lakefront views, the interior spacious, thoughtfully laid out, and warmly decorated. It feels like the family "cabin" (a very, very large cabin) you would want to have. It is also convenient to anything you might need - stores and towns, and places like Lake Placid, are a reasonably short drive away. Reviews weigh heavily in my decision of which property to rent. I haven't the space to adequately describe all the positives; I cannot think of anything negative. To underline that, I broke my arm midway through our stay. We still stayed the duration, had a wonderful time, and we are looking forward to returning. 6 stars!
The house was great. Alan is a great and kind person. He even came by on the heavy snow day to get our problem solved.
Perfect for a little winter getaway. Large bedrooms, and large spaces perfect for gathering. Even left us a case of water!

Alan was a great host, and the property was amazing. The house is a quirky Adirondack lodge with a tremendous amount of space, and beautiful outdoor space. Great living room with a beautiful view of Kiwassa. Beds were very comfortable and the bedrooms were spacious and private which was great for the couples in the house. Kitchen had everything we needed and the fire place was perfect for a cool Fall night. Would definitely stay here again.
