We had a great week with our family (2 adults, 2 kids, 2 grandparents). Wonderful home exactly as described in a quiet, wooded area on BHI. Tom was incredibly helpful and communicative. Highly recommend!
Our family loves The Best of Both Worlds! We have stayed there two summers in row; after the first year we all wanted to return. The house is ideally designed for guests who value a combination of togetherness and quiet time, with various gathering places spread throughout. The upstairs screened-in porch is a favorite reading spot for us, while our young adult children enjoy after-beach conversations on the downstairs porch. The weather was mixed during our stay, but that gave us time to play games, work on large puzzles, watch movies and cook and enjoy some great meals--all easy to do thanks to appropriate and inviting tables and seating, and a very well-stocked kitchen. We we were grateful for the short distance to the beautiful beach; what a gift to go on a morning stroll on a gorgeous day with our golden retriever and hardly see another soul, and then return for afternoon family time by the waves. Tom is an extraordinary host, generous, responsive and kind. We hope to come back!
The host was terrific. He made the trip a total success. We look forward to many future rentals.

Lindy and I both have backgrounds in design and we love transforming properties into beautiful and relaxing havens for us and others to enjoy. So come enjoy our Farm Estate Home in the Chapel Hill/Durham/Hillsborough area (25 minutes to either Duke Medical Center or UNC Medical Center) or our newest creation on Bald Head Island! We offer guests a lot of flexibility in enjoying our homes: You can rent our 4100sf 6 bedroom guest space in a park-like farm setting with its oversized private pool and hot tub on our farm or you can rent our new 4 BR home "Best of Both Worlds" on Bald Head Island and enjoy being surrounded by nature at the edge of the maritime forest as it begins its transition into beach topography: Take a quick 3 to 4 minute walk from our Bald Head home and you are at the best beach access on Bald Head and the access which is the gateway to miles and miles of undeveloped and undisturbed beach.
