Shelly And Jack’s cottage in the bush is a perfect getaway. It is tranquil, private and comfortable. We appreciated the open fireplace and Shelly and Jack had kindly set the fire for us prior to our arrival and it wasn’t long before the house was warm. The trees at their property are really beautiful and we were lucky enough to see koalas. We loved the fact that Shelly and Jack are conservationists and that they are caring for their environment in many ways.

The best thing is the absolutely stunning setting. Surrounded by bush, private, koalas and birds around, living room and bedroom looking out on to this beautiful environment. The cottage is quite roomy but fittings are fairly basic. Overall though a great getaway.

This is a wonderful rustic cottage with lots of room for 2 away from the bustle of Apollo Bay but an easy drive into town for meals and sightseeing. Shelly was always very responsive and helpful with lots of good suggestions. The wildlife here especially the koalas in the trees and beautiful birds in the surrounding gardens were such fun--also loved Sammy the Shetland pony and the chickens and chicks. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything we needed. The bed is very comfortable with plenty of warm covers. Our only suggestion would be to provide some better lighting in the living room area, kitchen and especially at the bathroom sink.

Shelly and Jack’s place is situated very close to town, but you have the novelty of the Otways enveloping you. Incredible wildlife, and the lovely Sammy the pony to boot! The accommodation is really, really comfortable. Shower is hot, bed is comfortable, sofas (very) comfortable, and we kept nice and cool inside. We really enjoyed sitting out on the veranda and listening to the sound of nature around us. We even ventured into the next door nursery to pick up some plants for home. Just be aware there is a bit of a gravelly spot as you exit the main road, but our car was more than fine. Overall, would highly recommend for nature lovers who want somewhere peaceful to wake up. As we exited, two large parrots sat at the veranda to watch us go. Enjoy!
