I had a little trouble checking in but it was completely on my end. I didn't notice that the message the owner sent me was different from the listed address in my air BnB emails. The place was nice and considering the ridiculous up charges other people had for the eclipse this one was a bargain. The host was very responsive and quick to fix anything. I forgot to tell him the fridge wasn't working because we didn't need to use it during our stay and he reached out after to apologize. If I had told him when we checked in I'm certain he would have fixed it right away. The host does live next door so you will see him but he seems open to more or less contact based on your preferences. You can tell that the experience of his guests is important to him. The place seems like an older house that has had some recent renovations. Its more comfy than a hotel or campground and is as pictured. Overall a decent place to stay if you're in the area. The fire pit was stocked with wood to use.

We loved staying at the lookout! Beautiful space, clean, great location & private space still in town. A/c, clean sheets, cold fridge/freezer and hot shower. The bedroom wall gave us a giggle but worked great for us. The photos & ad made it look like we were staying in the house but we stayed above the garage, not a big deal, actually worked great for our group of 6. The porch is large & great place to chill with the porch cats & shoot pool. I would recommend bringing extra pillows & blankets as well as toilet paper if you have a large group. Harvey’s canoe rental picked us up and dropped us back off. We ate the wet spot 10/10 atmosphere & food. No issues with bugs like stated in previous reviews. Robert was very nice, responsive, helpful and thanked us for staying. We will definitely be back to stay at the lookout in the future!

Great location, especially if you have friends/family camping in the nearby campground, loved access to the nearby swimming hole, super close to everything in town. Robert was very friendly and quick to respond. The Lookout was clean & had everything we needed (minus the paper towels & hand soap, as mentioned in other reviews, and minimal toilet paper). Overall, a great place to hang your hat for the night after a day on the water, take a hot shower, and walking distance from just about anywhere you’ll want to go. I did kind of feel like the price was a tiny bit steep, but Robert does have an amazing location!!
