So much to love about this flat. For starters, the location is difficult to beat. You're just a few minutes walk from the British Museum and two tube stations (Russell Square and Holburn). There's also a bus stop right outside the flat, too. Easy to access Covent Garden and theatre as well as the Southbank and all it has to offer. As for the flat itself, it's simply divine. A spacious living room with a very comfortable sofa. Windows open to provide a nice breeze through the space. Southampton Road is busy with traffic but there are sound-insulating windows that get rid of all of it. There's a nice office with a desk and futon as well. You'll want for nothing during your time in it. Last, but certainly not least, Edwin is a marvelous host. Great to communicate with before and during our stay. He also went the extra mile (kilometer?) and had provided a number of thoughtful welcome amenities that really made us feel at home after a long journey. A truly A+ experience throughout.

Spent one week over Christmas holidays at Edwin's place and had a fabulous time. Convenient to the tube stations, easy walk to the Thames, London sites. Comfortable space to chill in after walking a zillion steps! Edwin is responsive and I have no hesitation in recommending his flat.

We had a wonderful week in London at Edwin and Elena’s apartment. Edwin was a warm and gracious host. He provided detailed instructions on how to get to his apartment on the tube from Heathrow, and was waiting there for us when we arrived. He showed us all the features of the apartment, which include many thoughtful touches like mobile phone chargers, electrical outlet converters, guidebooks and a list of recommended restaurants and shops (we would never have known about Foyles bookshop otherwise). We were there over Christmas and Elena had even set up a beautiful Christmas tree for us! The apartment is well located for exploring London with an easy walk to Piccadilly and Central line tube stations. We felt quite safe walking around at night. It’s a five-minute walk to the British Museum, and about 15-20 minutes to the lively Covent Garden/Soho/Fitzrovia areas. It is on a busy street but is up high so the noise isn’t a problem – I am a light sleeper though so I did use my earplugs in the front bedroom. It’s in a lovely old building that must have incredibly thick walls as we never heard any sounds from the neighbors. There are two bedrooms and a pull-out sofa in the living room, a well-equipped kitchen and a spacious bath (with heated towel racks!); all were sparkling clean and quite comfortable. There are room-darkening shades everywhere, but if you will be using the pull-out sofa you might want to bring an eye mask for sleeping as there is some ambient light from the common area outside the front door. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to all our friends. Thank you Edwin and Elena for your hospitality!

A beautiful, spotless, and well-appointed flat in a central location with a friendly and gracious host — our family of three couldn’t ask for more! Edwin was very accommodating, meeting us for a late hour check-in, as well as an early departure, and making sure we had plenty of information about the flat and the neighborhood itself. We had our five-year-old son with us and Edwin made sure that he felt welcomed, pointing out a small chair for him to sit, mentioning the Netflix options that might be best for him, as well as having a box of biscuits for him to snack on. As other reviews have stated, the building next door is being renovated so there was some banging and construction clatter, though not until we were already up for the day. Southampton Row is busy, but street noise was never an issue — the flat was very peaceful at night. The location was superb — in between two Tube stops with a bus stop right outside. The Russell Square station is the closer of the two, but Holborn has access to two lines. London is so walkable though, and Edwin’s flat is so close to so much. The British Museum is around the corner and Covent Garden and Soho are a mere 15 minute walk. Even Buckingham Palace and the London Eye are only 30 minutes apiece if you have the time — and there will be so much to see along the way. If you are traveling with kids, the excellent Coram’s Fields Playground is a great place for them to get some energy out. It’s just down the street from the Russell Square station — less than a 10 minute walk from the flat. We loved our stay in London and would highly recommend Edwin’s lovely flat to anyone looking for a comfortable abode in the heart of the city.

Edwin was great! He met us at the train station and helped with the bags as we walked to his place. He also offered helpful advice and printed some tickets for us. His place is beautiful. It felt like "home," and is in a good neighborhood, near the Museum, a park and Underground stations. Although it is on a busy street, we heard hardly any noise because of the double windows. There was some construction nearby, which was annoying after around 8:30 AM, but we spent most of our time during the day out of the apartment. At night is was very quiet. My wife and I would stay there again on our next trip to London. We recommend Edwin and his place highly.
