We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this well-appointed, comfortable and spacious apartment — a first floor walk-up in a three-storey village house. San Shek Wan village is on South Lantau Road with bus stops located at the bottom of the road for heading in either direction - Mui wo or Tung Chung. Cheung Sha beach is about 15 minutes walk. or four stops on the number 1 bus. The location is rural and quiet, well away from the hustle and bustle of Hong Kong. Yet access to the city is easy via bus and MTR , or bus and ferry direct to HK Island. Regular Lantau taxis are easy via the HK Taxi App - Uber don't go to South Lantau. Viv & Hugh provide detailed photographic instructions for access and were quick to answer any questions. Many thanks , Viv & Hugh, we hope to be back.

While the location is about a 20-30 min walk to either beach, it is very easy to get to the closest bus stop. Be sure to download the Lantau Bus app for bus arrival times. There are some great hikes right from the flat that are amazing and not to be missed by outdoor enthusiasts. Be sure to get details from the hosts’ convenient orientation binder. The flat itself is great. Very clean with cozy furnishings and well supplied with everything you need for a home. Mobile service is almost non-existent in the village, but the WiFi covers most of the voids created by this. The WiFi has great coverage and speed making remote work very achievable. The hosts are very responsive, friendly and helpful. They make themselves available if needed and were a pleasure to stay with. If you are looking for an alternative to the dense urban environment of HK island, this is a great option for up to 4 or 5 people!

This apartment was exactly what we hoped it would be. Very spacious and comfortable for a group of 4, especially for typical HK spaces. We had a choice of eating at the extendable dining table or on the long balcony. The hosts were very responsive and went above and beyond in response to our questions. The place was cleaned regularly during our stay, including a change of sheets and towels. The location is stunning, and considering how remote it is, there is regular public transport to get into the city. We will definitely consider this again for our next trip. Thank you

Great stay out of the city. A bit far from the beach though. Would advise to take a bus or taxi to the beach if you are traveling with kids. The apartment was extremely clean. Beds a bit small but overall great stay!

The apartment is exactly as shown in the pictures. Lovely living room area to lounge, nice big kitchen to cook and gorgeous balcony to have breakfast. The village was quiet and surrounded by greenery. I could hear birds singing while I meditated and butterflies fluttering everywhere. Picture perfect. The rocky beach was beautiful. The place works well to explore hikes, beaches and towns nearby. Totally recommend it and will be coming back!
