We cannot recommend Walters Retreat highly enough. Suzanne and her family made us feel so welcome, the communication before and during our stay was exemplary. The safari tent (and bell tents) were spotlessly clean and incredibly well equipped, the beds were super comfortable and the shower was better than most hotels I've stayed in. The hot tub, trampoline, swing, fire pit and wooded area all went down a treat with the children (and the adults) and the fact that it was in a secure field was a bonus. We were staying to celebrate a relatives birthday and could not have asked for a more memorable time.

Fantastic stay here! We spent time here with another family and had a great fun catching up. Kids loved the hot tub, as did we adults when the stars were shining. Also managed a camp fire roasting marshmallows and singing some songs. Top notch fridge with cold water and ice maker….. kids quite liked that bit too!

Many many thanks to Suzanne and Simon for hosting our large family of five children in their luxury lodge. We were all amazed by the size and quality of the accommodation, the incredible rainfall shower, large American style fridge freezer, the cosy snug with tv and dvds for the children, the hidden huge bed behind heart shaped cubbyhole (everyone wanted to sleep there!), the outdoor kitchen, the hot tub…everything is high quality. The huge outside area surrounding the lodge with rope swing and huge trampoline gave our children so much entertainment- and the tour of the farm and playing with dogs was an even bigger bonus. Our children didn’t want to leave and have begged us to come back! Thank you so much for being such attentive and thoughtful hosts- the welcome hamper and luxury food items in the fridge on arrival were an even bigger back bonus and really helpful. This accommodation is perfect for families with children - and I’m sure we will be back!

What an amazing find. We weren't quite sure what to expect given limited pictures at the time of booking, but we were blown away by the quality and comfort of the Safari Lodge. Located in a private field of a family run farm, it afforded large amounts of privacy and not having to worry about any noise complaints from neighbours. It comfortably slept the eight of us that we were staying, and would have had no difficulty sleeping 10. The mattresses and bedding were better than many a hotel I've stayed in. Everything was spotless on arrival, with some produce from the local farm shops, and other 'essential' food items for just incase. The rainfall shower was lovely, and everyone enjoyed a soak in the hot tub. What really topped off a great weekend was the service we received from the host Suzanne. She regularly checked in, before and during the trip, to make sure that we had everything that we needed and wanted for the trip, even going as far as lending us some of her tennis rackets to use in the fields around the tents. I couldn't recommend this place highly enough for any group as a get-away that provides great levels of comfort, quality and privacy.
