A private and fully self contained annex, recently built to a high standard. Set back from a quiet road, yet in the heart of a beautiful village offering stunning views of the Brecon Beacons and a very friendly pub, Bwthyn Broga enjoys an enviable position in the heart of the CarmarthensIre countryside. The annex boasts a large balcony off the spacious bedroom which makes the most of the afternoon and evening sun as well as a private lawned garden. Fully fitted kitchen and shower room. Bwthyn Broga is an eco friendly new build with underfloor heating beneath slate floors which, due to it’s clever design, fits seamlessly between listed buildings in this beautiful village. The interior is a mix of new and old, upcycled and recycled, with a Macintosh kitchen, design studio wallpaper and a big squashy sofa to curl up on. Outside are front and rear terraces and a side lawned garden.
Despite contacting them late at night as I'd been let down by a different host, Elizabeth and Dudley rushed next door to clean the property immediately so it would be ready by the time I arrived. Everything was spotless, well equipped and cosy, with lovely views of garden, country and hills. They were great hosts during my five night stay and interesting to talk to. I loved my stay there and hope to go back.
We had a lovely stay here. Really impressive accommodation in a lovely area of Carmarthenshire. Home from home comforts with very helpful hosts next door. Can highly recommend.
One of the best airbnbs we’ve stayed in! Thank you, Lizzie! Lizzie was kindly able to accommodate us very last minute after another place we’d booked turned out to have a v uncomfortable bed. We loved the whole place, spacious, comfortable, well provided for and designed, thoughtfully furnished and we even arrived to a bottle of Prosecco & some Welsh cakes which we were able to enjoy on the balcony watching the sun go down with a lovely view. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. Thanks Lizzie.
We had a great stay. The kitchen is well stocked and the annexe is beautifully decorated. Very peaceful surroundings. We would definitely return!
What a lovely place to stay - an absolute gem! The property is well designed and tastefully appointed to provide very comfortable accommodation. Add to that lovely views and a very friendly local pub and it doesn’t get much better! We were on a brief two night visit but felt right at home and could easily spend a week or two here. Elizabeth was very welcoming and helpful and we would stay again without question.
Llansadwrn is a warm and friendly village with miles of walks from the door, if you don’t feel like driving. The coasts of three counties are not far away and the pretty towns of Llandeilo and Llandovery are a few minutes drive, with numerous cafes and independent shops. The National Trust property, Dinefwr Park, is in Llandeilo as well as Dinefwr Castle, both well worth a visit. The beautiful gardens of Aberglasney and the National Botanic Gardens of Wales are just a short drive away, as are the Roman goldmines at Dolaucothi and Carreg Cennen castle, probably the most dramatically situated castle in Wales.
A car is useful to get around although the Heart of Wales railway line runs to within a couple of miles of Llansadwrn and there is a regular bus service running from Carmarthen to Llandovery. The second highest peak in Wales, Pen y Fan, is a short drive away and I have plenty of information on local walking routes.
