We had a family vacation with family spanning across the states meeting here (as far south as TX!). None of us had been to Cape Charles, but upon researching the area and stumbling across this listing, we had a feeling it would be the perfect fit for us- and it more than delivered! The home is very spacious, inviting, charming, and the location is fantastic! We had 4 kids in our group- ages 2 to 6 - and all had no problem walking to and from the beach multiple times a day. The host was very responsive and helpful with the couple of things we needed help with and were quickly resolved. The kid cousins especially thought the third floor room with plenty of space to share was the coolest thing ever. We had the most wonderful vacation- and it was largely in part to this great house! 10 out of 10 would recommend.
Our family of 11, ranging in ages from 5 months to 50 years, had a great experience at “Sweet Retreat.” The house was spacious, clean and well-stocked. The beds were really comfortable! Everyone enjoyed our time at the house and in the town of Cape Charles.
We so much enjoyed our stay at the Dail's home in Cape Charles when we visited for a family wedding. The hosts were responsive to questions about the house and the area. The condition and comfort of the home was excellent and made our large extended family very comfortable. The area is peaceful and beautiful and within walking distance of town and the beach. This was a perfect place for our family to gather and we plan on coming back.
This house was even better then we expected, and our hopes were pretty high based on the photos and descriptions. It did not disappoint! It felt even closer to the beach than described, and so spacious and perfect for our extended family vacation. We couldn’t recommend it more highly and can’t wait to come back!
Perfect home for six “seniors”—siblings and spouses— Sharing Easter weekend. Private bedrooms, each with its own bath; multiple indoor and outdoor furnished social areas; Well supplied kitchen…and a gas grill. So enjoyable a stay.
