This petit chateau is located in the heart of the “Valley of the Kings”, within a short drive to many of the royal castles in the Loire. Cheverny is the famous Tintin fictional home and Beauregard is Cellettes local one. Amboise where Leonardo De Vinci leaved for many years and now rest in the Chapel. Chambord is the largest and most impressive. The nearby medieval town of Blois is 10 minutes away from Cellettes by car and 90 minutes away from Paris by train. Blois, on the Loire river, could also be cycled many bike lanes. The small village of Cellettes is surrounded by vineyards as far as the eye can see and the numerous local wine makers will be happy to sell their products after the ultimate traditional free tasting sessions. The Valley is also famous for its goat cheese, handmade biscuits, white asparagus (in spring time) and various fruits. The local bakery, as well as the grocery shop, are only a short walk away and so is La Vieille Tour, a surprisingly affordable award winning Michelin restaurant that serves lunches and dinners. It is virtually around the corner ! The gated and secluded property consists of six bedrooms (two with balconies), a large salon, a fully equipped kitchen and a library with hundreds of English and French books. Double glazing and central heat will ensure an utmost comfort in the cold months. The vast garden, with its 15m by 10m heated swimming pool in the middle, boasts of a unique landscape that contains dozens of fruit, decorative and medicinal trees, including the famous rare Ginkgo Bilbao whose leaves are reputed to improve one’s memory. Apple, pear, plum, cherry, queen, wholenut, hazelnut and some grapevines adorn the estate. Also outside: a pond and a professional BBQ . The Loire is an all year round holiday destination, basking in summer time and experiencing the hunting season in winter will provide an equal measure of enjoyment to the visitor. Do not forget the 2024 French Olympiades will only be a few hours away if you have booked to see any of the sporting events.
