Our stay at the Cozy Cottage and in McCallum was amazing! Cliff was a super host and answered very fast all of our questions. He even brought us fishing rods so we could fish during our stay :)

What a little gem of a place with an old cottage feel. Far from fancy! Fun 1.5hr ferry ride over to a small fishing village. Great place to turn off cellphones and screens and disconnect for a couple days! There is a small grocery store and liquor express minutes away from the wharf. Good for milk, easy meals, a couple fresh vegetables, frozen meats and treats! Walking up and along the boardwalk was lovely. Super quiet community with friendly folk! We spent most of the time sitting on the deck. We were happy with a pack of cards and a cribbage board! Cliff was a super fantastique host making our stay so easy and fun. He even met us at the wharf to give us a history lesson and to answer a few questions/curiosities! Wasn’t easy peeling us away from McCallum. Ya gotta experience it for yourself!

Cliff was very responsive in answering any questions. The place was very clean and the beds very comfortable. He made sure we were met at the ferry to see if there was anything we needed. If u are looking for a quiet relaxing place , this is it.

McCallum and Cliff's Cozy Cottage are definitely worth a visit, no doubt about it. The cottage could use a little work and a little tidying up, but it's totally functional and was pretty clean when we got there. The community, McCallum, is pretty impressive--hanging off a cliff (no pun intended), connected with extensive boardwalks, no doubt gorgeous views. It can also be a little tough on the psyche when the fog is unrelentingly pea soup thick, and the community is so, so quiet. All this being said, if you want some serious alone time, or to see one of the last true outport communities in Newfoundland, this is a good deal.
