From the beginning prior to booking the host was very responsive and friendly! During our stay we had questions and they seem to never tire 🤣. They gave plenty of directions and explanations there are posts on the walls to remind you what goes where especially in the bathrooms. There was plenty of space to where me and my guests didn’t feel overcrowded. The views are to die for and to be the selling point of the house and location. We did have trouble lighting the fireplace and were unsuccessful but there was plenty of chopped wood to burn for days.. we couldn’t take part. A few mornings my mom and I sat outside the on the front porch to take in the fresh air and amazing views.

This house is absolutely beautiful and located with a great view of the mountains. Great place for a quite, peaceful and relaxing vacation. Not too far of a drive from Bozeman or Billings if you want to head to the city. Within 10 minutes of Livingston for food and more activities.

Fun little setting on the Shields River. We didn’t utilize the river enough, we were too busy doing other activities. They had a nice mowed path down to the rivers edge and good instructions on where you could / couldn’t go. The area was peaceful and felt private. The house was great for our group and had some nice Montana touches. The fly table / case was really cool. We’d book the house again. My only complaint would be the house was a little warm without AC during the day, but we also went in August so that’s likely not an issue most of the time. Also the 10 AM checkout, that’s at least an hour earlier that what you generally see.

We loved the Trout House. It was the perfect home base for our skiing and hot springs adventures!
