Terrific accommodation, real atmosphere. Underfloor heating in the bathroom even. Great place to stay for skiing or biking the mountains behind. Beautifully restored main house. Worth booking dinner at the property. Stately breakfast, in style.

Great spot, rural surroundings, but close to Methven and Mount Hutt. We struck bad weather, but the cottage was really nice and cosy with a wood burner fire to keep us warm and toasty. Plenty of room, great lounge area, and kitchen had everything we needed. Large fridge with freezer which was real handy. Easy drive into Methven which has some great bars and restaurants. Try the lamb stew at the Dubliner, its outstanding. Highly recommended.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Stablehand Quarters in Gunyah Lodge. It was cosy, quaint, comfortable and had everything we could possibly need. We very much appreciated the log fire being lit for when we arrived (in mid winter). The bottle of milk left for us in the fridge was also really handy because of course we forgot to bring milk! The grounds of the lodge are just beautiful, we loved the chickens and the two friendly dogs. We would definitely come back.
