Penross is situated in a peaceful rural location in S.E. Cornwall., set in grounds which were once part of Rosecraddoc Manor.
It is a great location for exploring Cornwall and Devon. Stunning beaches, pretty harbours and secluded coves offering a variety of water sports are within easy reach.
The rugged landscape of Bodmin Moor is just a couple of miles up the road, perfect for walking, biking and pony trekking (there are local riding stables in Pensilva). Trevallicks Farm Shop and The Wheal Tor pub serve fine Cornish produce and boast fantastic views and are just 5 minutes up the road. Also, the Crows Nest Inn, a lovely traditional Country pub is close by.
About 15 minutes drive from Penross is Adrenaline Quarry at Menheniot, perfect for teenagers with its aqua park, go carting, giant zip wire and more! Siblyback Lake is about 15 minutes drive and has a very accessible lakeside walk, lovely cafe and takeaway (award winning Olive & Co), children’s play area and kayak hire.
The Ocean City of Plymouth, with it’s shopping mall, National Marine aquarium and historical Barbican area, is about a 35 minute drive.
Take the scenic train ride from Liskeard to Looe ( the setting for BBC’s Beyond Paradise) and wander around the variety of shops and restaurants, including the Sardine Factory run by Ben Palmer recently featured on the Great British Menu!
Stroll around the gardens and houses of local National Trust properties such as Cotehele, Lanhydrock and Saltram.
There is plenty in the area to occupy people of all ages!

There are taxi’s available locally and a train station and bus service available in nearby Liskeard.
