This farmhouse is well set up for a fun, peaceful and beautiful getaway on the water. The farmhouse is old, charming and very comfortable. The weather was cold and rainy during most of our stay, but the working fireplace, well-stocked kitchen, cozy reading nooks and abundant supply of board games kept us happily entertained. Sandra was a wonderful host and resource for the area too. We were sad to leave at the end of our stay.

What a special place! The whole place was wonderful but, for me, the dock was the ticket. Being able to tie my boat up at their dock allowed me to wake early and take off for early morning fishing trips without the hassle of trailering and launching the boat each time! (The creeks through Parkers Marsh held white perch, rockfish, and red drum.) Plus, the crabbing from the dock was excellent! And, there are fish lights underwater at the end of the dock so at night you can watch the rockfish circle like sharks in their pursuit of shrimp. Lastly, it was so much fun to be able to quickly hop in the boat after dinner and go out and watch the sun set. When I wasn't in the boat, we had a great time playing bocce and reading. There were plenty of places outside to sit and read or play cards, so you could always find a spot out of the sun and in a nice breeze. Sandra was very communicative and proactive in giving me tips for how to navigate the creek leading to their dock! We hope to come back again and soak in the tranquility of this lovely house!

Beautiful, spacious home in a serene location. It was lovely to wake up in the morning and drink a cup of coffee on the screened in porch overlooking the pretty backyard and the Onancock Creek. The area is frequented by Blue Heron and Egrets, which very much appealed to the birder in me. The dining room has water views on all sides and my family and I enjoyed cooking meals in the well-equipped kitchen, then sitting down and taking in the scenery. The dock is nice to sit on and relax, and we also made use of the fire pit one night and enjoyed some sinful smores. The town of Onancock itself is quaint with shops and restaurants dotting the main street. We went to Mallards on the Wharf twice because we enjoyed it so much, and also made use of the kayaking outfit next door to Mallards, where we did some leisurely kayaking on the calm creek, paddling past stately homes. All in all and lovely time and a peaceful getaway. This house is an off-the-beaten-track find, perfect for unplugging and enjoying nature.
