My significant other and I have travelled to Santorini, quite a few times, staying mostly at Fira or Imerovigli. This time, we decided to 'gamble' on Pyrgos. The idea behind it was the following: The sunrise of Santorini is iconic for a simple reason. Because you enjoy it from a higher perspective than flat surface. The higher you are, the better the depth of the horizon. So, what better than enjoying Santorini's most valuable asset... than the highest village. And the highest place on the highest village! That is Santorini Soul's "L Villa". The ideal place. Imagine watching a sunset from the highest roof, on the highest village... in a warm jacuzzi! That's the place you rent. ;-) All the rest, come as secondary details, to the above. Small comment, before closing. On some reviews, people complain about the stairs. And yes, they are a bit steep. But then again, you travel to Santorini, a mountainous island full of steps. If can handle stairs everywhere... don't visit Santorini

We were not happy about the jaccuzzi it wasn’t a jaccuzzi it was a plunge pool and the pictures were deceiving. The plunge pool is nothing like the jaccuzzi advertised. The stairs to the plunge pool are dangerous and slippery. My daughter and I fell but had we been told we would have been careful. And if you have heavy bags ask for help with luggage as the stairs are steep and long and tiring. But the manager was nice she suggested good eating places that was our highlight.

Lovely place! Just like the pictures. The walk up to the Villa is very steep and rough. Taking luggage up and down is a challenge! A bit far from Fira & Oía.

Although the property itself is well renovated, nicely decorated and relatively spacious, I strongly urge you to consider the following issues we encountered during our stay prior to booking this villa. Compared to the many five-star hotels in the area, the overall value simply wasn't there, so you are better off staying in a suite or villa at a luxury hotel for that kind of money: - the listing states that "walking is involved," which is a partial truth at best. A more accurate description would be a "steep and rocky 10-12 minute climb through a labyrinth of alleyways." Imagine this when you arrive with heavy luggage or are coming home at night in the pitch black dark after a few drinks. This was our least favorite part of every day, and we are both athletic and in shape individuals. - the listing also advertises a "jacuzzi" but it is more of an outdoor plunge pool with one working jet, filled with cool water. We spent maybe 10 minutes on the roof because we were shivering within 2 minutes of entering. There is no warm nor hot water and the temperature cannot be adjusted, according to the host, because it was already set the "maximum permitted limit." We stayed at five-star hotels in both Mykonos and Zakynthos, and both of those establishments had legit hot tubs, so I'm calling BS on this one. The view is nice but the amenities on that floor do not look like the pictures. This will fall below your expectations. - the iron provided destroyed one of my favorite white dress shirts. I went to use it and black debris came shooting out and stained the fabric. Was pretty pissed about that. Nothing was done by the manager to remediate this. - location - just okay. A few local restaurants at the bottom of the huge hill you have to climb. Can't lie though, food was pretty bomb. Other than that, not much going on in that area. You want to stay in Fira if you are interested in the finer dining establishments and nightlife or Oia if you are looking for thos iconic and picturesque white houses with blue tops. Thera was a bit boring for us and it's literally impossible to get a taxi or Uber at times, especially after 10pm. - the property manager - not horrible but definitely not good either. As a realtor and property manager myself, perhaps I am overly critical, but communication and problem resolution was not the greatest. She can be difficult to reach at times and was not able to accommodate even a slightly early check in despite knowing our arrival time weeks in advance. She claims it was because the unit wasn't cleaned yet, but my wife thinks she just didn't want to show up to do her job until 3pm (as she showed up with her motorcycle helmet late after we had already been killing time at nearby restaurants and getting lost in the maze for 3 hours). She just didn't have that genuine and sincere level of customer service you will receive at higher end establishments. In conclusion, if you made it this far, spend your money elsewhere. You will be happy you did. Don't get lured in by the indoor pool, you won't use it and it makes the entire villa humid. Plenty of resorts and luxury hotels have private hot tubs and scenic views.
