KimAnna and Michael were excellent hosts! The mermaid cottage was very cozy. We brought our infant and dog which made the space pretty tight, but workable! We appreciated their hospitality and this made a nice base to visit monte vista and other surrounding areas!
Wow!! I can’t believe not giving this place five stars. It was such a unique and beautiful stay. The place itself is so gorgeous and really has everything you need and stayed warm even though it was very cold outside. The views were outstanding. Felt like we could see every star at night just breathtaking. KimAnna and Michael were great hosts! We loved seeing their rescue animals as well! What a great way to kick off 2024!!! 😊😊
The Mermaid Cottage is a work of art that you get to stay in for a night or more. We felt truly at peace on the ranch, and we look forward to another visit sometime soon.
When we planned our trip, the reviews of this place were so enticing and we decided to give it a try and let me tell you, IT WAS THE GREATEST PLACE OF ALL OF TIME! The location, the home itself, KimAnna & Mike, the ponies, the puppies, the STARS.. I mean I can’t say enough great things. STAY HERE!
We had magical stay at the mermaid cottage. Very fun, unique and we felt right at home! We did some hiking right near the air bnb. Easy access to the outdoors. Which was great! Hosts were so friendly and responded to everything we needed. We will definitely be back!

We live in the beautiful San Luis Valley in Colorado nestled in the Rocky Mountains. On a solar ranch. We are now retired but for 16 years we ran a small organic grocery/gift store and cafe here in Del Norte. We love building alternative artsy structures, animals, nature, the beautiful outdoors, beautiful architecture and interesting people. So we love hosting people in the Mermaid Cottage and our Hostel as well as the La Casita Bonita and now the Lucy Desi (this one is a vintage silver steak located on our solar property :-)
