Had a wonderful 4 night stay at La Castellana. The host, Jose Carlos, and his family were very warm and hospitable. He provided several tips that helped us make the most of our trip and save a lot of time and money. He is practically fluent in English and very communicative. The breakfast was delicious and filling. The location was a 5 minute walk from the heart of Vedado and el Malecon. Thanks again for a fantastic trip!

Out of our 3 Airbnbs booked while in Cuba, this was our favorite. Jose and his family were beyond hospitable hosts and we really felt a connection while staying in their home. Upon arrival, Jose and his mother were very friendly and offered us invaluable information about the neighborhood, activities not to miss, and general tips for our stay in Havana. Jose's mother has an incredible breakfast spread in the mornings for only 5 CUC and is flexible in dining times. I only wish she also made dinner as well! They were almost completely fluent in English, unlike some of our other hosts, so we were able to have many meaningful conversations. They even helped us book a taxi to the airport so we wouldn't have to worry about catching one during rush hour. They were always willing to draw a map of local attractions and provide translations for us when needed. These are truly happy, genuine Cubans whom you would love the opportunity to meet! Don't think twice about it, book this home ASAP before someone else grabs it first!

From the moment Jose Carlos and his family opened the doors to their home we felt welcomed. The humbleness in their eyes, the way they made sure we were always safe! The way they joined in our conversations, shared their culture with us. My sister, friend and I can go on and write a book about our experience not only in Cuba but with the family, but we shall end it here by saying we left part of us in Cuba and shall return!

For us, staying with Jose and his parents was the perfect choice for our 4 days in Havanna. Jose, Oralia and Carlos are all very warm people and they looked after us in a way that I think maybe is unique. We felt like a part of the family staying with them, maybe also because the rooms are included in their house. Our stay in their house meant more value for our trip to Havanna as Jose helped us a lot with local tips and more!
