自我介绍

A little about us, Gréta and Bjarni. Our paths crossed almost forty years ago. Back then we were both young students, Bjarni in photography and I in hairdressing. But life took it´s own course and a fast one. Around thirty, our children were four. Today they have all moved on with their own lives. We have twelve grandchildren, seven boys and five girls. Our biggest treasure. Our life. We moved out of the city three years ago. The name of our house here, Himnaríki/Heaven describes how we feel and we hope our guests will get that feeling too. Borgarnes is a nice, peaceful little town but not too far away from Reykjavík or the Snæfellsnes peninsula, not to forget the beautiful wilderness in the westfjords, where our roots lead to. We just love it here and think this is one of the best decisions we have made- to give it a try. Some years ago we decided to make an old dream come true. What we did came to many as a big surprise; we sold the portrait studio, our family company, of twenty eight years. Bjarni went to sea as a chef and I applied to an art school which I graduated from with a degree in ceramics. My studio is here at home. It is open by request for those interested, so feel free to msg us here or give a knock on door. My work is also for sale at the local craft market, Ljómalind. Together with the ceramics and Airbnb, I also work as a funeral director. In our spare time we like to travel, play golf, go fishing, hiking, camping etc. Bjarni also goes hunting birds which he likes to cook for family and friends on a special occasions. As one can read from above, we do enjoy life and what it has to offer. We love what we do. Socialising and meeting new people as well as keeping in touch with our family and friends. Life is today, make the most of it. G&B
