Overall the house was clean with comfortable beds and living room furniture. It needs an update when it comes to the decor. A handy-person is needed for some minor touchup paint drips on baseboards, missing crown molding, loose kitchen tiles, master toilet did not flush consistently and holes/patch jobs in the ceiling where light fixtures may have been(?). The TV in the living room had static coming from the speakers. We were still able to use it tho. The house has a For Sale sign so maybe the next owner will put some money into redecorating. We enjoyed the deck and beautiful Japanese Maple! We had a few questions before arrival and communication was great.

Lovely old home with lots of character. Clean and tidy, plenty of space and a well appointed kitchen. Great neighborhood to walk around, and the Des Moines Art Museum and a Rose garden just 5 min walk away. Well worth it.

My entire family was together at this beautiful house for my niece’s wedding in downtown Des Moines. There was plenty of room for all of us. We did a quick wedding rehearsal run through in the piano room which was a lovely backdrop. We played numerous games of pool in the basement. It was wonderful cooking for the whole crew in the big kitchen. This will be a cherished memory for our family for years to come.

We loved this place! Definitely going to book again. Lots of space and comfortable places to gather.
