This villa is delightful. Very comfortable for a large group with plenty of private en suite bedrooms and lots of comfortable gathering areas. And that pool! One of the nicest ever. Highly recommend!

Wow. This house is like stepping back into the 50s/60s Bossa nova scene. We spent a lot of time trying to figure out whether it used to be a hotel or some resort club. Then, I simply asked Giulia and she explained the history of the house to me (btw: excellent communication from her before, during, and after the stay). Turns out, it was built as a private home for a large (wealthy) family and includes built-in workers' quarters in the basement and behind the main house, all of which makes it feel even more palatial! The pool, patios, garden, and common areas are the highlights of the house - perfect spaces for a large group to hang out and relax without any pressure to get out and see sights (though Ischia does have a lot to see). There are loads of spaces for folks to hangout, including several large dining tables and about a dozen full-size couches - both indoor and out - just tons of opportunities for lounging and spending time with others. I can't overstate just how much space there is to explore and hangout in this house. The gathering place of the house for us was the pool and front porch area. The porch has a ceiling fan, dining table, and lots of seating with a view of the pool and garden (including these dark slate surfaces that are warm in the daytime and are great to lay on while drying off. The pool and grounds are kept in very good condition by two groundskeepers, at least one of whom visits twice a day to turn the pool pump on and off and water the plants and grass. These men were very nice and helpful and attended to any plumbing and electrical issues we had during our stay. You should know that night swimming is not allowed. The location of the house is also very nice. It's about 10 minutes from the pedestrian areas, so you can walk there, but the house is in a less busy area. We found this to be a good balance because we came here specifically to relax and not feel pressured to go see places. Still, some in our group made excursions to see Castello Aragonese and hike Mt. Epomeo (both worth the trip). I recommend bringing/renting a car or boat if you would like to visit any areas of the island not in the area between Porto Ischia and Castello Aragonese (this is not a critique of the location of the house, btw, I just say this to give a sense of which areas are/aren't easily walkable). There are several great restaurants, cafes, and patisseries that are walkable from the house. Unfortunately, the pizzeria just outside the house gate was closed for vacation while we were there. Also, be aware that the grocery stores (2 within a couple minutes' walk) are closed on Sundays. If there's an early riser in the group, I recommend heading to Gran Caffè Vittoria and getting a box of *takeaway* pastries (don't dine in - $$$) to bring back to Villa Luisa. These make for a perfect relaxing morning by the pool. Millemolliche was also a convenient place for low-key takeout with very friendly and helpful staff. Things to be aware of: Consistent with the old-school vibe, some aspects of the house are not to modern standards. Some bedrooms do not have AC, though they do have ceiling fans. Giulia and her assistants who met us at the house opened up the AC bedrooms first, but then opened up some non-AC bedrooms after we asked for extras so the teens in our group could have some privacy. If you're planning on cooking dinners in the house, this can be a bit tricky because there is a galley kitchen on the ground floor where the refrigerator is and the main kitchen in the basement does not have a refrigerator (as of July 2022). There is a second refrigerator on the back patio dining area that is a bit easier to access from the kitchen. The main living room area can get warm in the afternoon as well because the house only has air conditioning in bedroom areas. I think the house is designed to stay cooler during the day by using shutters to block the sun and create air flow, but we never got the hang of this, so we hung out either in our rooms, the pool, or the basement during the hottest parts of the day. Other than these (completely workable) issues, we LOVED this house. 10/10 would go again.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful villa and a lovely time in Ischia. The villa is very spacious and clean and the outdoor area was incredible and kept immaculate. The pool was huge and super clean. The villa was in a perfect location with everything we needed within walking distance. Communication with the host was great and any questions we had were answered very quickly. Would highly recommend staying here. Ischia is a beautiful, authentic Italian island and absolutely worth a visit!

Villa Louisa in Ischia is a gorgeous house..…very comfortable with loads of space....plenty of areas to sit & chat, & the bedrooms were large & ensuite. It was perfect for us, a group of 6 meeting for a reunion. We really enjoyed eating outside (in October!) beside the lovely pool, which was still warm enough to swim in. Silvana & Giulia were very helpful & responded quickly to any queries we had. I would definitely recommend this villa for a stay in Ischia.
