Charming & spacious terraced cottage, comfortably furnished and well equipped. 2 mins walk from town centre. Morpeth is the perfect base for a Northumbrian holiday, our vibrant market town attracts visitors from far & wide to stroll along the river & award winning parks or delight in the wide variety of shops, cafes, restaurants & bars. Sandy beaches, ancient castles, stately homes, quaint villages & unspoilt countryside are within easy driving distances and just waiting to be explored. The cottage has been refurbished to a very high standard, it has a wonderful light lounge with leather sofa’s and a focal gas fire. The French doors in the lounge open onto an enclosed shared courtyard at the rear of the house with views over the park and river Wansbeck. The well equipped kitchen with farmhouse table comfortably seats four . Upstairs: Master bedroom with European king sized bed and walk in wardrobe, second spacious bedroom with 2 small double beds, fitted wardrobe and drawers. Family bathroom with bathtub, separate shower cubicle, low level wc and wash hand basin. We have 1 visitor permit for the on street parking within dedicated zones (approx 50 yards from cottage), additionally Morpeth operates free disc parking, the nearest facility a 2 minute walk away.
Well equipped cottage, very easy to walk into Morpeth town centre from cottage. Very friendly and helpful hosts.
What a wonderful place to explore Morpeth and the North East. A 3-4 minute walk from the town centre and everything is has to offer. The house was spotlessly clean and there was every pot, pan and accessory you could ever possibly need. A very warm welcome at the property, loads of really useful advice and an incredibly thoughtful Easter egg each for our 2 children. We loved it!
This was our second time staying here. Teresa was very accommodating to us, making sure all the baby bits were there for us to use. She met us at the property and let us know of changes since we were last there. The house is a great spot for exploring Morpeth and Northumberland in general!

Morpeth is in South East Northumberland, 14 miles north of Newcastle upon Tyne, 8 miles from fabulous unspoilt beaches on the coastline and only 18 miles from Northumberland's National Park making it a perfect base for exploring the area. You can pretty much be in city, coast or stunning countryside within 20-30 minutes.
There are several castles & country homes to explore nearby with picturesque villages to peruse enroute.
Morpeth itself is a thriving market town with excellent facilities including a leisure centre with 25m swimming pool, award winning parks, tennis courts & bowling greens.
Shoppers can enjoy a good blend of independent retailers as well as high street names like Marks & Spencer, Body Shop & Next to name a few. There’s a great choice of restaurants, cafés and bars as well as takeaways for those who prefer to eat in.
Morpeth also hosts a weekly market on a Wednesday and a monthly farmer’s market on the first Saturday of the month.
Meander Cottage is at the top end of Newgate Street, a few minutes’ walk from the all the main facilities yet setback a comfortable distance from the pubs.
Morpeth has good transport links, buses operate across the region to local towns and into Newcastle.
Morpeth railway station is a 15 minute walk away (or short taxi ride) and is served by the main East coast railway line, with trains to London, Edinburgh, Durham & York as well as local trains to Newcastle, Metro Centre & the Tyne Valley.

My hobbies include walking, photography and watching wildlife, I'm so lucky to have the opportunities Northumberland provides to support my interests right on my doorstep. My husband & I enjoy travelling, we've taken lots of self catering breaks and applied our experiences to ensure guests have a comfortable stay at our family's holiday home in Newgate Street.
