The water tower is an amazing property, full of quirks and has everything you could need including a well stocked fridge and whisky bar. The outside lift is a great addition to get luggage up and down! Dag was a great host - very responsive in the run up to our visit, he met us on arrival to give a tour of the facilities and was available for any questions throughout our stay, nothing was too much trouble! The views from the roof are impressive!

We were looking for somewhere a bit different to spend a few days away and Dag's Watertower was it. The space was very comfortable and had everything we needed for the stay, the hammocks and whisky were an added bonus :) Dag was a wonderful host and we would definitely look to return next time our travels take us to the area

I booked Dag's Tower on behalf of a colleague who was working locally. Dag was an excellent host. From the start of the booking right up until the end he was the perfect host and Magnus (my colleague) thought that he was awesome. The property was spacious and very welcoming. There was everything that he wanted and the view from the roof was spectacular. He used the lift to get into the property, but used the stairs in the morning to get down. He loved the place and was grateful for the honour of being able to stay in such a unique, noticeable landmark on the Montrose sykline. If you get the chance to book this marvellous place, don't hesitate, do it!

First thing, we shall be booking again, this is a given based on our overall experience ☺️ Dag is an outstanding host, the building itself is a wonder and just an experience in itself 👍😎 The fridge was stocked, the bar was stocked and for the two nights we never put the TV on once, fantastic ambience that provoked conversation rather than the dumb box! However I would say a couple things, if you are looking for a travel lodge type experience, this is not for you, it has many "quirks" which I would imagine not everyone would find as endearing as we did. The "lift" is not something you can use yourself, you'll need assistance with it from Dag as it is an open & exterior lift. In both bedrooms there was a window in the roof that no way to block the light, so at 4:30 the sun was beating through. These are just two niggles, neither which would stop us returning. PS, Montrose is a beautiful place but we spent more time in the Water Tower 😁
