We're on top of a mountain—one of the southernmost outcrops of the Ozark Plateau—on a family farmstead. This countryside setting is five minutes away from shopping and restaurants and around ten minutes from Interstates 40 and 49.
Just across from the cottage, the walls of the rock house where we live are estimated to be at least 145 years old; we renovated the interior at the same time the cottage was rebuilt. There are large, modern homes located across the road.
Grasslands and woods surround the cottage. You'll sometimes see bales of hay resting in the fields. Nearby is an area covered in thick vegetation where deer often harbor. At night, and very early some mornings, if you are quiet, you'll hear owls hooting nearby and sometimes a train whistle blowing in the distance. Wildlife roam freely here, most frequently at night. Some nights, especially during a full moon or at the change of seasons when the deer and coyotes are more active, all of the neighborhood dogs, including our two rescue pups, "Red" and "Blue," may bark, their way of warning that night creatures may be on the prowl. Some of the land is fenced; in other spots you may see very old, barbed wire fences in need of repair, a project that remains on our wish list as we continue to restore the farmstead.

You will need a car to get here and to get around the area. We have covered and lighted parking for your car. If you're pulling a trailer, there is extra room for that, too.
