Staying @ the Huntley Lodge was a great experience for my entire family. There were 9 families, from the age of 90 to 3 mo old twins-27 family members in all. Everyone had a room & a warm bed to sleep in. We cooked our Thanksgiving dinner in the Lodge & outdoor kitchen. Please note-the outdoor cook needs to have Alaska blood running through their veins in order to withstand the cold in the winter. I was that cook! I’m a 69 yr old Grandmother & was dressed appropriately so it worked for me. I made the gravy & dressing on the perfect gas range outside-everything else was made in the Lodge kitchen. We had a hard time finding measuring spoons/cups & bowls to mix/serve. If your going to do a lot of cooking-bring these items. The extra see through fridge outside was a lifesaver! The inside fireplace was awesome-We spent most of our time in the Lodge w/snow coming down outside the entire time. Perfect Thanksgiving! Caretakers were most attentive! Thank you to everyone!

The Huntley Lodge is a fantastic place to take a large group of friends and family. It has 8 duplexes with two cabins in each unit. Each cabin is basically a large room with a queen size bed and two smaller beds in a separate area (same room). It has a table, couch, small kitchenette with fridge, microwave, coffee maker, etc. Good size bathroom. Normal size closet and a couple of chest of drawers/closets so plenty of room to put your stuff in. But you will be spending most of your awake time at the main lodge which was incredible. We connected our phones via bluetooth to their outdoor bar area speakers and listened to music while we had drinks, some people danced and enjoyed themselves, we bbq'd, grilled burgers, made breakfast, sat around the awesome fire pit and had a fun time late into the night. In the day time we gathered around again, had coffee, made and ate breakfast and some folks went for hike at the coal miner's trail. It's an okay trail but we couldn't get to any actual mines and turned back after 2 miles. There are other hikes near by too. Some of the friends had their kids with them who jumped into the pool in the day time and had a blast. They spent the rest of the time in the main lodge area playing games and hanging out. The adults sat in the oversized hot tub and relaxed. In the evening we played frisbee and horseshoe in the big open field. At night we looked at the stars. We had a really nice time. We could tell as no opened up their laptops even once throughout the weekend. We were about 8 families, 29 people in total. The caretakers Drew and Kevin came to say hi and gave us a tour. They are the nicest people and so helpful. I had a nice time chatting with them. You have to follow the driving directions very carefully and not rely on the navigation as you get close. On 970 you'll see two roads with similar names. One is Teanaway Terrace Rd and the other one is Teanaway Rd. You want to turn right at Teanaway Rd and NOT at the Teanaway Terrace Rd. Make a right from 970 when you see the Teanaway Rd sign on the left of the 970 and Huntley Lodge sign on the right side. That's the right one. We are missing the lodge already and we would definitely come back and hopefully book the entire lodge again. We made good memories there. We stayed here for the weekend for our vow renewal . It was a perfect venue for our small intimate ceremony. We absolutely will stay again. The on-site care taker was outstanding in helping us whenever we needed it. It was super clean and spacious. Wonderful property!
