I am a visual artist who is the director of a community Arts Center, art studios and guest rooms co-mingle to create a fun experience if you choose. Original art lines the hallways and some of the rooms of our space, which is a restored Hotel and we welcome all including non artists with open arms. Not Arty at all? that's ok we are also close to stadiums, downtown, nature (Kubota Gardens, the arboretum, Seward Park, Alki Beach, Lincoln Park, Schmitz Park, and yep golfing options (West Seattle and Jefferson Park both have awesome courses). We are also located up the street from the Boeing Flight museum and school , Northwest Institute of Asian and Oriental medicine (NIAOM) and also The School of Acrobatics and Circus arts (SANCA) and not far away from Fed Ex and Amazon downtown. Are you a foodie ??? We have soooo many amazing restaurants in the area (South Park, Georgetown Beacon hill and White Center ) of course down town also but if you want to spread the love in the neighborhood then just look at my guide book (south Seattle's finest) Our Space --------------- Our space is hard to describe but we have been compared to a scrappy McMenamin's We have a large space but very clean and magical ( built as a hotel in 1904) our historical building has been lovingly restored . We are not your usual space so please read carefully... think old school hotel / European hostel without the ghosts....or maybe there are ghosts you will have to see (wink wink) No ghosts that are too precocious I promise :) We have three shared and very clean bathrooms One very well stocked kitchen (pots, pans, dishes and the like provided) And if you enjoy a morning coffee or tea / or evening glass of wine (or smoke) we have a very expansive back porch with couches , tables and a designated smoking area (New Orleans meets Georgetown) If you are sick please do not travel. I'm a fairly warm person, i like to give hugs but currently I am keeping social distancing and ask that if you visit us that you do also. About Me I LOVE LOVE LOVE being a host, traveling and meeting awesome people. I have recently adopted a little girl doggie named Pickles who is sweet and learning how to greet people, she came all the way from Mexico but is not traumatized at all, if you are allergic to dogs then please let me know before hand so i can have her in my office. The building is truly a magical charmer and I think you will enjoy your stay here Special things to be aware of * I follow Airbnb’s enhanced cleaning protocol, which was developed with expert guidance. ***Please note that the rooms are on the second floor and we unfortunately are not ADA accesible. ***Also of note our space is in the city so it's active and not always cricket quiet some noise from events , street or airplanes may happen, if you need a super quiet space book a hotel in the country. Most of the time the building itself is quiet but we have planes that fly overhead and a hopping building with fun restaurants and a pool hall downstairs. HANDS ON / only one staff member / so please be communicative I only have one staff member and do all cleaning, booking and greeting (except evening arrivals) myself so it is appreciated that you let me know your arrival time (as close as possible) at the time of your booking request and communicate this when you book if possible. I greet you in person or our evening manager if your arrival is after 6 pm ***After 10 pm arrivals \late arrivals will require a $20 hr surcharge**. Late arrivals with prior arrangement may be accepted) please inform me of your arrival time at the time of your booking request. Of course we know that emergencies happen ( delayed flights are real) and will work with you to make sure you are safe and respected About ME I am an artist , entrepreneur and lover of people, plants and four legged beings. Sadly we can not allow animals in the rooms at this time unless they are a documented service animal with a vets authorization (must provide before booking) I easy going person and always try to keep our space filled with good energy. We welcome all respectful people here, this is a safe space. * please be vaccinated so we may keep everyone safe. Currently we are not requiring masking or social distancing in shared spaces , but you may do what ever makes you comfortable and please if you are immunocompromised just let us know and we will also wear our masks for you. Just let us know. WANT TO GET MARRIED WHILE YOUR HERE? Well we have a wedding chapel on our property called Shotgun ceremonies ( you can find online) if ya wanna get hitched while your here. :) The lovely officiant of Shotgun ceremonies can work with you on a wedding package ( and yes Elvis can be present ) believe it!! ( I am not the officiant...so please do not ask me about setting up the details ) but if you book thru her then you can also organize your guests rooms with me, If you organize / coordinate to rent ALL the rooms in our space (There are 8 room), I will give you a 10% off the total (one point of contact only please for simplicity) ****Please no non Airbnb guests onsite unless they are helping you with your luggage , or help up and down stairs ****NO SMOKING of anything inside BUILDING / NO VAPING/ …you can do all these things in our Smoking area outside. I am easily accessible if you need anything, I am happy to oblige most requests and strive to make every traveler feel welcome but I also will give you your space. I try to take Sundays off to rest and have time with my dog. (Dog lives off site ) I am also happy to help you plan a fun day here in Seattle. I have allot of travel info and happy to give you any recommendations . We look forward to meeting you and making your stay awesome!
