Dorcus is one of the best hosts I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting! I am studying wild primates and needed a place to stay with my team- somewhere that would be our ‘homebase’ upon returning from fieldwork every day. I contacted Dorcus to tweak some minor details about booking and she responded promptly and was flexible. Upon arrival, my team and I immediately felt right at home. The house is situated far from the main road and surrounded by agricultural fields and a local school- it’s far from the commotion yet only a 5 minute drive from Bigodi town proper. Dorcus cooked for us, her staff cleaned and made sure we were comfortable during our stay. We had delicious hot dinners after every long day of work, and she got up early to pack our lunches for the field :) while we were gone, she took care of charging our laptops, and other electronics. The house is spotless, hooked up to solar, and there was fresh spring water from the nearby bottling facility every day. 100% excellent hospitality!
