I was really excited to stay in this cottage due to it's age and history. I learned from Sue that this cottage is one of the oldest in Bellevue. The cottage has some original furniture and old lamps that provide that back-in-the day ambience that I personally find very cozy. When stepping up on the front porch and then turning around to look east my eyes followed the roadway which eventually leads to a view of the Mississippi river. Since the main allure of coming to this area is the Mississippi River I really liked being able to walk out the front door and see it each morning. I liked that Sue was very good in her communication about where/how to find the key and appreciated her kind words of concern for our travel in the unpredictable snowy/rainy weather. She gave me insight for what the weather was doing on Bellevue. I liked how Sue left brochures and pamphlets of places to visit and eat in the area. When we left Sue gave us a friendly send off. We hope to return soon!

This was great location to quietly celebrate my birthday and relax. Sue welcomed our dog, Vader without hesitation. Sue showed us around the place when we checked in. She offered some suggestions of places to eat and visit in town. We were going to hike at the Mines of Spain the next day and Sue pulled out a pamphlet about it prior to our arrival. This was the perfect size place for us.

Our stay at the cottage was just what we needed. The cottage is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood just close enough to town so you get your morning walk in. Everything you need is in the cottage and we felt right at home.

I have stayed here twice and; both were fantastic. Sue is a great host. She and her husband (and super cute Golden Retrvr) live next door so they are close if you need anything, yet non-intrusive and allow you privacy. The place holds a very special place personally for me; my mom and her siblings lived in this home as children prior to buying a farm W. of Bellevue. How incredible! It has two well-furnished/comfortable bedrooms, more than ample eating space (dining room AND kitchen table), and a warm, inviting living room. The furnace and A/C work well; you can make it cold in the summer and warm in the winter! And if you arrange that living room chair just right, you can watch TV, while at the same time watching barges and trains go by down below! :-) <3 Highly recommend!

Sue's hospitality was bar none above any air b&b I've stayed at to date. This was the first time the host ever met me/us at check-in and immediately felt like family just walking us through house to make sure we knew where everything was and how things worked. Cottage was spotless and so peaceful it was truly hard to pack up Sunday to leave. We would and will be staying here again and can't recommend others strongly enough to stay if in area.
