Nortaboot is a beautiful home situated on the east coast of Shetland close to the sea. Renovated to a high standard the house provides comfortable accommodation for families, friends and business travellers and with only a 10-15 minute drive to Lerwick makes it a perfect base for your time in Shetland. It's also in a great location should you wish to 'get away from it all' as there are lovely walks and a garden to enjoy. The property provides 2 double bedrooms, spacious kitchen diner (with range cooker and dishwasher), living room, bathroom with shower and separate shower room. There is also a utility room. The garden is well maintained and there is outdoor furniture for guests use. Wi-fi, Sky TV and Sonos are also available. For those with younger children a highchair and travel cot can be provided.

This was probably one of the best Airbnbs we have ever stayed in. The house is even better than the pictures, the location is amazing and Nicola was an awesome host. We plan to stay again in future and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for somewhere to stay.

Nicola's home is wonderful, we didn't want to leave. Everything was really comfortable and the house was bigger than the pictures made out. We had everything we needed for our stay and the kitchen was really well equipped and even had a larder to dip into with herbs, spices, pasta, rice, sugar, oil, vinegar etc. USB ports are also in the house which was great as you always forget enough plugs for everyones cables. Whoever stays in Nicola home is going to love it. What I also loved was how much you can see Nicola loves shetland and all the crafts that can be found on the island as she has so much of the beautiful paintings, cushions and ornaments made on the island. The house was spotlessly clean and more than we hoped. We also had great weather so we were able to sit in the garden and enjoy the views, we even saw the dolphins from the kitchen window. What more could we have asked for.

We were in a poor state when we arrived, Loganair had lost all our bags, necessitating a trip to A and E for vital meds. What a pleasure to relax into this lovely house, beautifully situated, well made to enjoy either sun or storm. and decorated and furnished in restrained good taste. Kitchen liberally kitted out, you could easily cater for a dozen friends, if you have them. One could pass a Shetland winter here, I think. We left restored, though sworn never to fly Loganair again. Nicola is a perfect host, directions and instructions were faultless. Highly recommended.

The picturesque settlement of Fladdabister is just a stroll from the house and indeed a ‘murder scene’ from the drama Shetland can be seen from the kitchen window! Guests can enjoy coastal walks and there are two stony beaches close to the house. There is an abundance of flora and fauna in the surrounding area and if you’re lucky you might just see a pod of Orcas from the shore.
Shetland’s south mainland provides the best concentration of visitor attractions in Shetland including Jarlshof and Old Scatness archeological sites, St Ninian’s Isle, Spiggie, West Voe and Levenwick beaches, Quendale Mill, Sumburgh Lighthouse and the Crofthouse Museum. A day trip to Mousa Broch is highly recommended.
The property is also ideally located for exploring Shetland and a day trip as far as Unst can easily be achieved.

Situated at the north of the village of Cunningsburgh it is just a 10-15 minute drive to Lerwick. While a car is always useful to get the best of your time in Shetland, Nortaboot is just a 10 minute walk to the bus and is served by the frequent South Mainland bus route. There is also space to store bikes for those cycling their way around Shetland.
