The house is secluded, truly immersed in the countryside, surrounded by greenery in a large private garden full of fruit and olive trees, dappled with shade on even the hottest day. The only sound you'll hear apart from the wildlife is the distant church bell sounding the hour. You'll most likely see the eagle which drifts across the valley from the Alps, see a praying mantis, hear the rare edible doormice (like cute, argumentative squirrels) squabbling in the walnut tree, watch the bats hunt as purple dusk descends, hear the local cats yowl at a porcupine on a midnight mission in the woods. The cats keep the village free of rodents and are well-fed by a local, so don't be tempted to offer them titbits! Despite the rural seclusion, rest assured that the house is equipped with fast and reliable wi-fi... The 8m x 4m pool is built on a sun-drenched stone terrace with plenty of sun loungers from which, again, there is an uninterrupted view of the valley and mountain peaks beyond. The earth around the pool in photographs is now, one year on, green grass! The simply-decorated farmhouse has three bedrooms, a cosy sitting room with fireplace and table for eating, and a very spacious newly-fitted bathroom. Windows are protected by mosquito screens, meaning they can be left open for a cooling night breeze. Two bedrooms have ceiling fans. The kitchen is well-equipped, with gas cooker, fridge freezer, and decent pots, pans, cutting boards and proper cook's knives, so that if the mood takes, guests can make the most of the superb local produce. The kitchen opens on to a spacious covered terrace with an old bench, pine dining table and plenty of wooden chairs. In the summer, every meal can be taken here, in the shade, facing the garden, with the pool and uninterrupted mountain views beyond. This is the perfect house for those seeking relaxation amid the tranquility of authentic rural Tuscany.
