Molazzana · 农家乐 · 3室3床2.0卫 · 可住8人 · Casale le Scope | Farmhouse near Lucca
Agriturismo le Scope is located in the Garfagnana mountains in northern Tuscany, close to the city of Lucca. The farmhouse enjoys an enviable view over the rugged landscape of the Garfagnana. The Apuan Alps rise behind the beaches of the Tuscan Riviera up to 2000 meters high and are known for its marble mining. The farmhouse is 100% immersed in the nature. After a lengthy restoration, the farmhouse and adjacent former barn have been converted into two detached houses. Casale le Scope (140 m2) is one of the two detached houses at this estate. The farmhouse has been renovated using sustainable and original materials. The private terrace is furnished and equipped with a barbecue and wood oven. Guests have a comfortable living room with sofa bed, fireplace and rustic dining room. A fully equipped kitchen, luxury bathroom with bath (hydro-massage). On the first floor, there are three double bedrooms and a second bathroom with shower.
We had a great time at le Scope! Fantastic house with a lovely and unique surrounding. In case you love to hike, there are many opportunities for half-day or day-tours.
The house is immersed into the serenity of the forest with beautiful views to the greenery. The pool (140cm deep) is a gem with the added benefit that it’s in the shade from 3.30pm (in July). The road has some twists and turns as it climbs up to Molazzano from Gallicano (where there’s a big supermarket open the whole week to buy anything might be needed). While Lucca is a bit far, Barga, across the valley, is easy to reach, and has some restaurants, good ice cream, and multiple festivals during the year. The forest road is well sign-posted and maintained, and it’s only scary for the first time driven. The two houses are situated in a way that they don’t disturb each other. But to reach the bigger, back house, you need to walk a little with the luggages when checking in and out. Also, the stairs in the house are a bit steep - but a 4 years old in our company could deal with them with a bit of attention. Finally, both the booking contacts, and Mauro at site, were very helpful!
Our stay was lovely and it’s a beautiful traditional farmhouse. The pool and outside was well maintained too. Something I will mention is that if you’re going with two toddlers (ours were 1 & 3) it’s not the most child friendly due to steps, stairs etc. but that’s our fault for not thinking ahead (it was our first time abroad with the kids). Otherwise it’s a wonderful place and when the kids are older, we would definitely visit again.
We enjoyed our stay very much. The house is very cute and in a beautiful location surrounded by nature. Everything went smoothly with the check in and check out. We would recommend this place very much if you want to take a few days off in the mountains. It takes a while to get to the place from the nearest town but it was just what we were looking for.
We had a lovely stay at Le Scope! We were in the bigger home with our two you g kids and another family with children. The pool is amazing and the views are breathtaking. The house is equipped with all you need on a rustic getaway. There’s also a nice jacuzzi tub in one of the bathrooms (this was a fave for the kids!). We made pizza in the wood fire oven and bbq’d. Perfect place to stay if you’re looking for remote, secluded and nature immersed. We take with us many wonderful memories from our stay! Thanks Mauro!
The farmhouse also has a small collection of war attributes that witnesses the fierce battle between the Germans and the Americans along – built by the Germans – the 320 km long Gothic defense. The line stretched from Pesaro on the Adriatic Sea to Massa Carrara on the Tyrrhenian Sea and consisted of machine guns, anti-tank weapons, obstacles and barbed wire. Specifically in this valley a heavy battle was fought.
The main attractions in the Apuan Alps are the caves Antro del Corchia and the marble mines in Levigliani. It is advisable to visit the caves and mines under supervision. Keep in mind that in order to visit the caves, more than 1000 stair steps have to be walked, and proper shoes are important. (These can also be hired locally).
