We loved our stay with Nena and Jose in Playa Giron. They were so welcoming and friendly, we felt like we were part of the family from the moment we arrived. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the garden was beautiful and the evenings spent on the veranda playing cards and enjoying Nena's tasty meals were perfect. Jose was really helpful when it came to arranging our time in Playa Giron, offering us horse and cart lifts to the best beaches and organising a guide to take us around Sendero Enigma de la Rocas, a nearby woodland with beautiful birds and swimming spots to enjoy. We would highly recommend staying here - and so would our two boys aged 7 and 9 who agree that this was the best place we stayed during our time in Cuba. My only regret is that we couldn't speak more Spanish so we could get to know our hosts better. Thank-you Jose and Nena. We hope to come back and visit again.

We loved staying with Jose and Nena! They are truly amazing hosts. Jose and his son met us at the bus station, loaded our bags on their horse and carriage, and took us to their house. We are a family of four so booked both rooms. It was lots of space and I appreciated having some privacy (separate entrance). Both rooms have bathrooms with good showers. Beautiful yard full of fruit trees, huge patio with picnic tables to eat on, play games, etc. Jose’s son taught us how to play Cuban dominos! Jose gave us great advice on what to do while in there and helped arrange everything. He encouraged us to scuba dive (which I don’t think we would have) and it was incredible! They were really great about taking us around in the horse and carriage when needed. We had all breakfasts and dinners at their house and did not regret it - Nena is a fantastic cook! Honestly, by the end we felt like family. I hope we can return one day to visit Jose and Nena and explore more of this beautiful place.

Nos sentimos como en casa con José y Nena. Los dos son increíblemente amables, corteses y serviciales. Es el punto de partida perfecto para disfrutar de los muchos hermosos destinos de excursiones en Playa Girón. Nena es una cocinera inmejorable y tanto el desayuno como la cena son de las cosas más deliciosas que hemos comido en Cuba. ¡Volveríamos a reservar con José y Nena en cualquier momento!

Jose and his family were amazing hosts! He was extremely flexible with our check in and out times. We had an awesome horse and buggy ride with his son, and Jose was very willing to show us all we could do in the area. Unfortunately, it was rainy for our stay, and we weren't able to take advantage of snorkeling/ diving. But Jose and his family really showed their warmth, kindness and flexibility...My sister and I were going to walk to town for dinner, but it was pouring out and that didn't seem very appealing. At 7:00 pm I asked Jose if they could possibly make a simple dinner for us. His daughter in law made a delicious and abundant dinner last minute..we were so grateful! I highly recommend staying with Jose if in the area.

Une belle expérience. Jus de bienvenue fait avec de l'eau minérale. Nos meilleurs déjeuners à Cuba. Repas du soir goûteux et en abondance. Logement très propre, rudimentaire mais la famille est tellement attentionnée que l'on s'y sent bien. Eau chaude. Frigo très bien. Pas testé la climatisation. Literie ok. Persiennes en métal comme la plupart des logements à cet endroit mais les insectes ne sont pas rentrés. Très bon rapport qualité prix. Repas pris sur la terrasse.
