This place is amazing! Serene countryside, beautiful property, the loveliest staff and delicious food - what more could you want?! This is definitely the place to rest, relax and enjoy the beautiful Indian countryside. I’d recommend having a pre thought out plan of places to visit with your mornings so that transport/food can be organised and then you can enjoy the lovely afternoons at The Mudhouse! Thanks to everyone who made our stay so wonderful :)

We had a delightful stay at The Mudhouse in Munnar! Nestled amidst stunning natural beauty, with mountains as our backdrop and birds' soothing sounds, it was truly a serene retreat. We cherished the opportunity to disconnect from daily life. The home-cooked meals, typical of South Indian cuisine, were delicious, allowing us to savor the region's authentic flavors. The staff was exceptionally warm and accommodating, always going the extra mile to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. Their assistance in arranging drivers and tuk-tuks for our outings was invaluable, making it effortless for us to explore the landscapes of Munnar. Their availability for any inquiries or assistance added to the overall ease of our stay. It is worth noting that the roads around Munnar can be winding and challenging, which may not be suitable for those prone to motion sickness. Nevertheless, the Mudhouse remains a gem that promises unforgettable memories! Thank you!!!

This is such an idyllic and calming place to spend a few nights. You are in Marayoor which is out of Munnar meaning it’s quieter and a more rural location. The drive there is stunning, providing views of the tea plantations and hills.. When you arrive you come up the hill to the reception hut. Our mud hut was absolutely beautiful inside and cool when the middle of the day gets hot. It was very clean, comfortable and spacious inside and the bathroom is open meaning you can have a shower in the sunlight of the morning. The staff (special shout out to Ambily and Manju) who made us feel very welcome. The food is amazing- you can have lunch and dinner as well as the complimentary breakfast which is fixed but changes nightly meaning you won’t be bored. The lunch particularly was special as it was a thali style meal served on a banana leaf including around 15 different elements. We loved our stay here and recommend it to anyone travelling in this area of India

Stayed here for 2 days and had the best time! A lot of things went great for us - the property itself is so earthy, rustic and always filled with birds chirping :) Then, the food is OMG! Soooo good, we were relieved about this since there are not many options around the place. Devu Didi treated us so well - her smile made our stay special. And lastly, the experiences - we went to Thoovanam Waterfalls and the river hike. Thanks to Ambily who recommended these to us! She perfectly understood what we were looking for and was genuine and honest to help us have a great stay. I am giving this 100/100. (PS - this is not mainstay in Munnar, so if you are looking to explore places around Munnar, would recommend some other place! But if you are looking for a quiet retreat close to untouched nature, GO FOR IT!)
