The house is located approximately 2,5 hours from the Athens International Airport or 1,5 hour from the Port of Patras. Approximately 7km - 5min from the village of Kalavrita, midway to the Kalavrita ski center, at Aristarchos residence complex . It is also situated 30km-40 min from the sandy “Blue Flag” awarded beaches of Pounda-Diakofto by car or with the spectacular mountain rack railway “Odontotos” crossing the Vouraikos Gorge, one of Greece’s unique attractions.
Kalavrita is a place full of history and natural beauty that attracts visitors throughout the year. Close to the house “The Mega Spilaion” Monastery is a stunning eight-storey complex built on vertical rocks reminiscent of Meteora. “The Cave of the Lakes” with its surreal silence of underground water is a stunning cave with stalactites and stalagmites and fossils from the 6th millennium BC.
A small road trip away (approximately 2 hours’ drive), is Ancient Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympic Games, and Ancient Mycenae, Homer’s “Gold-rich Mycenae” Palace and the famous city of Nafplio (Greece’s first capital).
Last but not least the area is a paradise for activities in nature. There are numerous opportunities for sports and activities: mountain biking (the nearby path in the forest is used as an official path for downhill contests), cycling, hiking,(majestic alternating landscape through the Vouraikos river gorge up to the mounatins on the E4 European long distance path ), canoeing and river rafting and endless trekking paths that can be enjoyed by any reasonably fit person.
