Dave's place was a great launching point for all of our activities in Hawaii. We loved how much space there was, with plenty of seating for everyone. The views were amazing! The place was well stocked on kitchen supplies, a grill, snorkeling gear, etc. We had everything we needed (although, they were running low on cleaning supplies. Not sure if that's something the host stocks or if the supplies there were just leftover from prior guests). Some things I would point out to potential guests: 1. the stairs to get to the room in the loft are very narrow and steep. We didn't have any accidents on them, but could be dangerous for less coordinated individuals. 2. We stayed here with 3 adult couples (6 people). The room in the loft has 2 twin beds, and no easy way to push them together. We were fine with it in our group, but something to be conscious of before booking. Any children up there will need to be able to navigate the steep stairs mentioned in point 1. Would stay here again!!

We couldn’t have hoped for a better stay! Dave had everything we needed. I couldn’t believe the assortment of beach gear, much more than he has listed! We didn’t have to purchase a single thing! The location was perfect, the house was spotless, and the view was everything!!!

If you are looking for great views and a centralized location, Dave's place is perfect for that. The upper unit had a fantastic ocean view but was very noisy throughout the day and evening. Road noise was loud even with all doors and windows closed. The space was comfortable but lacking in some areas such as paper towels and dishwashing detergent which we purchased. The water pressure is poor but there were plenty of towels and the washer and dryer was a lifesaver. It would be a good idea to bring your own first aid kit, sunscreen, shampoo, conditioner, and bath soap since they are not provided. We also hoped to use the snorkeling equipment and the pool floaties but they were not functional and many were just broken. We had a great time though and really appreciate how responsive Dave was. The big island is beautiful and this was a spot that fit our party of 6 just fine. The shopping center was walking distance so we could easily purchase what the condo didn't provide.
