We enjoyed our second visit at Stephen’s place and especially loved seeing the goose family and busy beaver in the backyard lake.

We had a wonderful stay at Stephen’s cottage! We stayed for New Year’s Eve and he even left us a bottle of champagne to enjoy. The cottage is clean and pretty stocked as well we were realized we forgot flour for the chicken parm we were making and we’re pleasantly surprised to see that he had it there! I’m addition to oils, cooking sprays, and a pretty stocked fridge! The town of New Paltz a short drive away made for a fun day of exploring. We hope to return soon!

Stephen’s place was exactly as he described. Which I appreciate. It’s a no frills place to stay. We stayed during cold weather, so getting the temp in the place was a little tricky. It was either too cold or too hot. We did need to borrow an air mattress and purchase a topper for it and an electric blanket, for a little more sleeping comfort. Amenities are minimal so if you need foil, baggies, to go items, you’ll need to bring these with you. We did have to be careful with the plumbing, the toilet seemed to clog easily, and the hot water ran out quickly. But we figured that out and worked along with it. It’s not a place I would go to for the “experience” , but for us it served its purpose which was to be near our adult children for a week’s visit. We were gone most of the days and evenings so over all it worked for us.

Cute cottage, conveniently located near New Paltz. We enjoyed our stay here and hope to be back!
