FRAMLINGHAM
Only one mile from Boundary Farm and four miles from Willow Cottage, is the charming, historic market town of Framlingham. Renown for its 12th century castle surrounded by parkland and the Mere which is a haven for wildlife and walkers, Framlingham is a perfect town for a stroll, shop and glimpse of history. Market Hill is the town’s centre and hosts markets on Saturday and Tuesday.

Our farm cottages and glamping site is within easy reach of the unspoilt Suffolk coast and heaths (an area of outstanding beauty) renowned for its scenic beauty, wildlife and outdoor recreation. The beautiful coastal towns and villages of Southwold, Walberswick, Dunwich, Sizewell, Thorpeness, Aldeburgh, Bawdsey Quay and Orford add much to its unique appeal.

You’re spoilt for choice for fabulous walks in this area, which showcase the range of wildlife and countryside whether its marsh, woodland, heath, rolling countryside or the coast.
RSPB MINSMERE
RSPB Minsmere (of Spring Watch fame) is a fantastic coastal nature reserve featuring splendid woodland, wetland and coastal scenery, rare birds, shy wildlife, beautiful bugs and colourful wild flowers in summer.
ORFORD NESS NATURE RESERVE
Accessible by a short boat ride, this is the largest vegetated shingle spit in Europe and is an important nature reserve providing a location for breeding and passage birds as well as for the coastal shingle flora and wildlife. From 1913 until the mid-1980s the Ness was used as a secret military test site.

EASTON FARM PARK
3.5 miles from Framlingham, Easton Farm Park is a petting farm with loads of activities including pony rides, indoor play barns, wonderful café all set in the beautiful Deben river valley.
THE PIER AT SOUTHWOLD
Decked out across the sea, this historic pillared walkway sums up an idyllic English seaside destination. It offers cafés and restaurants, shops and amusement arcade.
SUFFOLK OWL SANCTUARY
The sanctuary at Stonham Barns, Stonham Aspall is a delightful place to watch, study or simply enjoy the company of owls and other birds of prey. There are over 80 raptors at the Centre, all housed in spacious aviaries and flying free in narrated flying displays or demonstrations. There is also a leisure and retail village, golf centre, fishing lake, playground, shops and tea room.
AFRICA ALIVE!
A walking safari set in 100 acres and home to more than 80 species of animals from around Africa. Located in Kessingland near Lowestoft, around 20 miles away.
BANHAM ZOO
Often awarded the prize of Norfolk’s Top Attraction, the zoo is home to over 2,000 animals. 25 miles.
PLEASUREWOOD HILLS THEME PARK
One of Suffolk’s leading family attractions, Pleasurewood Hills in Lowestoft (28 miles) offers lots of thrilling rides including four roller coasters!
RSPB, SUFFOLK COAST
The RSPB has six nature reserves on the beautiful Suffolk Coast. There’s a wealth of wildlife to be seen. Minsmere is the flagship reserve, offering a variety of countryside walks and bird-watching hides, a busy programme of events and top class facilities including a shop and tearoom.

HISTORY AND HERITAGE
FRAMLINGHAM CASTLE
Framlingham is a magnificent late 12th-century castle, its striking outline reflected in the nearby mere.
SAXSTEAD GREEN POST MILL
is a corn mill, whose whole body revolves on its base and was one of many built in Suffolk from the late 13th century.
SUTTON HOO
An awe inspiring Anglo Saxon burial ground. Plenty of activities and events for families and children.
ORFORD CASTLE
Discover one of England’s most complete and unusual keeps. The unique polygonal tower keep of Orford Castle stands beside the pretty town and former port.
SPORT
Cycling – There are many trails and routes through villages, forests and countryside including the 88 mile Suffolk Cycle Coastal Route. There are a number of cycle hire shops in Southwold, Aldeburgh and Rendlesham Forest to name a few.
Golf – Suffolk is a golfer’s paradise. With courses to suit everyone from beginners to pros. Available at High Lodge, Cretingham, Aldeburgh, Thorpeness, Ufford, Woodbridge, Witnesham and Halesworth, and there are driving ranges at Stonham Barns and Ufford.
Sailing and surfing. With miles of fabulous coastline Suffolk is a great place for watersports. From sailing trips to small and large yacht charter, through to comprehensive RYA sail training.
