Spacious and bright, practical and comfortable furnishings: living/dining room 30 m2 with veranda, sliding door, panoramic window with digital TV, electric heating, air conditioning and fan. Exit to the patio, to the swimming pool. 1 room 9 m2 with 1 french bed (135 cm, length 190 cm), air conditioning and... ... fan. 1 room 9 m2 with 2 beds (90 cm, length 190 cm), air conditioning and fan. 1 room 12 m2 with 1 french bed (150 cm, length 200 cm), fan. Exit to the patio. Large kitchen 16 m2 (4 hot plates, oven, dishwasher, toaster, kettle, microwave, freezer, electric coffee machine). Bath/WC, bath/shower/WC. Patio. Terrace furniture. We stayed at Casa Bergen for 10 nights in April 2019. The property was pleasant but in need of updating. Thick carpet throughout seemed a bit strange in a hot country & as there was no hoover, made it difficult to keep clean. It felt a bit like staying at your Grans house. The master bedroom had the comfiest bed I’ve slept in (apart from my own) & I left feeling chilled & refreshed. We had issues with the hot water - there were only 2 of us & showers became a major problem. If you took a fairly brief lukewarm shower then you had to wait over an hour for the other person to be able to shower. I emailed the host after 3 days but heard nothing back. After 7 days all the water went off (due to wider area repairs in the street, affecting several properties & not anything to do with the house), & when I reported it to the host they then mentioned the hot water situation & explained there were 2 systems & whilst the master en suite was as I described, the family bathroom ran off another system & provided plentiful hot water, which was correct & the last 3 days worked fine using both showers. It’s a shame there was no explanation of this on check in, or indeed when I emailed them on day 3 !! I could have avoided 7 days of hot water stress. A printed house guide at the property would be a good starting point. The pool area/outdoor space was lovely. This was the “room” I used most & it was relaxing, private & most enjoyable. When we arrived, my eyes lit up as there were 2 large wooden sun loungers with thick mats on them - so much nicer than plastic. However, someone came & removed them on day 2 “for maintenance” & we were left with 2 plastic ones 🙄 I’d happily stay here again, even more so if it had a makeover. But then it would be double the price!
