We hoped to escape to a private and quiet spot and this didn’t disappoint. The location is a drive from the main drag and that’s exactly what we hoped for. The outdoor shower was a huge hit and we were able to convince our kiddos to shower! Normally a bath is preferred and a shower is a struggle… We loved Iron Ore Beach and played in the little creek flowing through the beach for hours. We look forward to visiting Circle M restaurant again for dinner! The house was very well stocked with things I wouldn’t have thought to bring (coffee filters, spices, paper towels, etc). We made a lot of great memories during our first time on the island and look forward to returning!
Very nice cottage! Like other reviews, we very much agreed that the kitchen was well stocked. Really felt like we were staying at a friends house! The beach is rocky, as described, but still beautiful. The beds were a little harder than we’d like but still slept great. Thanks for the stay!
This was our 3rd year at Beaver Tales. We keep coming back for a reason....we really love the quieter south side of the island. Beautiful sunrises on the waters edge just steps from the back door, star gazing, cooking out (gas or charcoal), plenty of space for all 6 of us and that outdoor shower (w/hot water) which is most definitely one of our favorite amenities. Nearby Iron Ore Beach is the perfect nearby public beach. You won't be disappointed with a stay here.
Lover our stay! The place was very clean and very well supplied. Had everything we could possibly need/want. Elizabeth was very helpful with some travel issues we had. Couldn't be happier with our stay.
We stayed with our family of 5 and our dog. It was our first time on Beaver Island and we were able to enjoy kayaking and trekking without meeting anyone. The island is compact and lovely and we had a very relaxing stay. Beth's home was cleaner than we expected, with all the essentials and very tasteful furnishings. The environment was very inspirational, with knick-knacks and layouts scattered throughout that made me want to apply them to my own home. My family all said they would love to visit again. Thank you very much!

I love to travel with my wife. We especially enjoy beach vacations or anything close to the water. There’s nothing like a sunrise on the water. I also enjoy cooking with local ingredients and visiting farmer’s markets when we travel. There are so many interesting and fun things to see and be had. I suppose I’m a bit of a foodie. I see traveling as a way to not only experience the world but also to rejuvenate myself. As a host, I delight in making sure others enjoy themselves in our space. It’s really important to me that people have a pleasant and relaxing vacation.
