Well, words elude me. This abode is worth a splurge if you can manage it. It's more than we would normally spend but the combination of its outstanding location (steps from more outstanding restaurants than you're going to believe) and its charm and feel make it an experience. It is well-appointed and the renovations from its historical previous uses are a true work of art. The design and layout are functional and the expansive space somehow seems to feel comfortable at the same time as it is grand. I do want to say that if your group uses all three bedroom spaces, the third should be younger or rather fit folks. There is a ladder to a charming modern space for what most folks would consider the least convenient of the three. And ascending and descending that ladder should be done carefully. But even that space is exceptional. The two bedrooms we used were wonderful in every way. If I return to Montefalco, I will be prepared to spurge once more.

The caste is absolutely remarkable. Even better in person than the description and pics. Designed and furnished with unique finishing touches. Everything was very convenient. PRiLo bar next door was excellent- a beautiful place to enjoy a glass Prosecco and overlook the countryside. Within a 5 minute walk we enjoyed the truffle dinners at ReTartu Restaurant as well as an incredible lunch at Mordecai Restaurant - all 3 venues are highly recommended !!!! Gusto wine tour is not something to miss. Mark is a very fun host (his wife is incredibly attentive and a wealth of knowledge with local suggestions). Tour was a remarkable experience of both wine and food tasting ! Can’t say enough positive things about the castle as well as the entire experience from the venue to the food, and all the experiences in Montefalco (truly a hidden gem). Both Shante & Elena were remarkable hosts, incredibly responsive, helpful and very attentive. Special thanks to Elena for all the additional tips she shared about Montefalco. Will definitely return with the very special man in my life whom shared this experience and highly recommend to anyone looking for a quiet getaway that offers a 5-star experience.
