Mary was a very friendly host, we had a great stay for 3 nights whilst visiting the area. Mary kindly dropped us into nearby cosham for a pub dinner on Sunday. Recommend

No issues ,stopped for 7 nights ,tried to book back in for next week but booked out ,disappointed would definitely stay again . House is lovely & Mary very easy to get on with ,house very clean .

Cautionary note: We booked the "twin room" - this "twin" is a single bed with a pull out bed underneath it. They join together to make a double bed with two single mattresses. So not ideal if you are not a couple. There were pro's and con's to this stay: Pro's: 1. Rooms are spacious, airy, clean, quiet, and nicely decorated. 2. Free tea and coffee and milk and use of the kitchen 3. this is a budget stay and you probably wont find cheaper. (This means it also comes with cons, see below) Cons: 1. The mattresses are thin (like foam mattresses for children). 2. Its a multi occupancy house and there are not locks on the bedroom doors (though this is mentioned in the listing) - so this is not for everyone! 3. When we arrived our bed was not made up, and Mary was not there. We had to go out and let her know we wanted the beds made up for our return (not ideal as we would have appreciated a lie down after a long drive).

Mary made me feel very welcome. She was obviously happy to have someone who didnt need too much extra looking after because of her experience with Language students recently. If I needed to stay in the area again I would stay again. About 15 mins from main bus route into town then good access to the city/beach sights & shopping/cinema. Also Isle of Wight ferries & nice countryside around.

Staying at Mary’s place was great, she was very welcoming and kind. Always up for a chat however respects your privacy. Amazing location that was only a very short bus ride into the city centre.
